I am curious how the two are viewed? I mean we all know they are in the same universe and the same servers, etc. Being a player of both, one being free to play and one being subscription.
Now I am curious is Dust equal to EVE in New Eden? Or is it more a pass time. Meaning will I be able to make, sell, buy, trade in Dust also? Can I make a Merlin and sell it to EVE players? I am not talking about now, but in the future. Or am I limited to Dust items. Am I truly going to be a MMO with a self writing story to tell of my own making like EVE. Or just a shooter set in New Eden that EVE players can swing by from time to time to help influence a battle.
I really love both games, just been curious if Dust is a vehicle to get people to play EVE, and my EVE guy is to support my Dust guy.
Not trying to start a flame war just curious. Are they equals in New Eden or parent and child. |

Well, the latest EVE patch seeded Dust gear to the markets. Can't buy them as an EVE player, but it seems like they're on their way toward making the two economies into one. So, yeah, I'd imagine one day you will be able to get involved in EVE-side economics, and vice-versa.
That said, sov will not flip because of Dust players. We aren't going to be causing EVE corps to lose their stuff by our actions alone. So it's unlikely that Dust will ever be anything like equal to EVE in the overall scheme of things. That doesn't mean Dust won't be relevant, or that it won't be a fun and remarkably deep FPS experience with an unparalleled metagame (for an FPS). But you'll probably never have any really amazing stories to tell without the caveat of your Dust actions being a footnote to some greater EVE events. |

I'd love for troop ships to be added to eve, to carry Dust infiltration teams up to enemy Titans or something, and be able to fight their way inside and through miles of corridors-- to get to the bridge and possibly eject the pilot.
And the defending Titan pilot could be provided an instant means to call up Dust fighters to spawn inside his ship at built in defensive stations, spawn points etc.
Or maybe this just a way to take over a contested station or something?
...sorry if this has been suggested a million times before lol, I guess it's pretty obvious.

The idea of an EVE player losing a very expensive ship due to Dust stuff is pretty far-fetched. Losing a ship against something you can't defend against yourself wouldn't be very fun.
And yeah, it has been suggested approximately 13 billion times before. |
