I play Logistics. I dropped a LAV at the start of battle to hurry to objective C. My LAV miraculously survived a swarm volley from across the stage. I stopped behind a hill to repair it because it was smoking, no score for repairs. I said f-this and just abandoned it and went to C, where a few of my squad mates were already after they had ditched when they saw the swarm headed for my LAV. They had taken some fire, so I whipped out the repair tool again. No score for repairs. Later in the same match I decided to switch into a different dropsuit since I wasn't getting repair points, and the supply depot was damaged. Repaired it, no repair points.
I've reset and tried in several different matches, NO REPAIR POINTS.
I play LOGISTICS, which means I don't get many kills, and you guys either messed up something which caused a bug, or you guys are assholes who just took away my only real source of points short of very occasional revives and nanohive restores.
We LogiBros were already hurting for points, and now this BS. Fix it please before we end up going elsewhere. Some of us chose Logistics because we can't compete with those who can rack up a 24/2 kdr, you nerf our repair tool rewards and there is nothing left for us here in Dust. The repair tool already had a weak reward system with it's long cycle time unless you were farming points (I hear tell of some people getting around 6000 WP), but this is no way to fix the farming issue!
Fix. Please. Now. |

Swap your repair tool for drop uplinks, that's what I did. This was made this way purposely to stop boosters, you can thank the Warriors for your predicament. |

Goddamned dickfeathers! And no boost to our other stuff to make up for it? Do CCP WANT Logistics players? They won't if they keep this BS up. What reason do we have to even have to use a repair tool now? |

I hear your pain. Logistics is my secondary role, and it ticks me off that this is CCP's idea of a hotfix.
I don't see why the programmers who built this game are unable to input a code that discriminates between enemy damage and friendly damage when determining what points to award in a healed target, credit being given when enemy damage is healed.
But yeah, it is most dissapointing these days, since it kills the incentive in becoming logistics. |

The hotfix couldn't be any more complicated than changing a constant that was already in the program. Differentiation between types of damage was way beyond that and will have to come later.
Again, thank the "Warriors" and other FarmVille players for this gift. |

I usually just call them "The Peasants". They love farming, so the shoe fits.

as a Heavy, I can confidently say that Logis with a repair tool do the work of God.

Thank you for the kind words. For those of you like Tyrus here who appreciate the work we LogiBros do, I will continue to carry my repair tool despite the SP loss for the good of others for now.... Our rewards for healing were slow and put on a cycle that didn't reward partial cycles completed nor did they combine incomplete cycles together to make a whole one. This is the farthest from "fixing the issue" that I can think of, punishing a whole class for the deeds of a few Farmville idiots.
If this issue is not rectified soon, I will no longer play this game. I enjoy shooters but have never been all that great at them, and Logistics had allowed me to be an important part of the team without having to have a decent kdr. Without my repair tool, it's just not worth it. Without the logistics option, this game just becomes a poor knockoff Halo/BF3 MMOFPS transition to me as far as gameplay goes. I'd rather deal with the cheating camping assholes on COD than this, at least then I'd be able to play without all of the glitches, hangs, and getting killed without any idea what the hell just killed me. |

It's not an issue, it's intended temporary hot-fix. What's here so hard to understand? I think we won't have permanent solution until next patch, hence ~1.5 month if they keep the same patch schedule. |

It's an issue because it's an issue, I didn't say it wasn't an intended issue. A problem with a game is still a problem even if it is intended. And if it's gonna be that long before it's rectified, I'm moving on to other things until next build. |

OP - I too hear you cry and suffer your pain. Doing "the work of God" is often a thankless job, but we are LogiBros, it is what we do - our job and our life. We continue on because we have found our calling, not because it was supposed to put us on the leader boards.
I still rep anyway and am just holding out for the next fix. Stay strong - and may the empress and our God watch over you in our battles. |

Regardless of points I think the repair tool is still totally worth carrying as a Logi. Most players are not stupid and will stick with you if you can top them off after a fight which means they keep you alive and utilize your other gadgets.
I was kind of surprise that CCP removed all repair points and not just vehicle repairs. |

When considering Risk vs Reward under the current system there's no reason to run anything expect the milita BPO version (assuming you've AUR on hand) or the BPC version (If playing purely with ISK).
The rewards for suing high end gear (and spending the points in skills for their use) were already too light giving slim incentive to run anything beyond the basic, and then usually only the most dedicated LogiBro would actually do it.
Now under this change there's simply no reason it's worthwhile and even less reason for anyone to run a Repair Tool at all. I know some dedicated LogiBros will still do it, but they risk greater ISK losses than before (to attain the same WP gain).
Unless it's been done this way because they needed the whole Repair Tool WP system offline to do a complete revamp and address other concerns (fingers crossed this is the case) then even for a hotfix it was a poor iteration (the WP awards for vehicles were already assessed/tracked differently than those for dropsuits and thus the awards for one could have been changed without requiring the other being reduced as well).
Personally I think CCP is planning a better fix in the long run and this is part of that development. However since we haven't been explicitly told this it is still important that we as testers still continue to provide feedback regarding this issue as it is the current iteration of the game client provided for testing.
