Don't think this topic got much traction or discussion that I think it deserves. In Dust aiming feels too clutchy. When aiming with Dual shock it seems that the gradation of the reticle goes from being impractically slow to, all of a sudden too fast, as you apply more shift to the analogue stick. I personally notice how painful this is the most when using SR - the movement of the reticle is either too fast or too slow to match movements of potential targets without a good sweet spot in between. The same applies to control/aiming with all weapons - it's just easiest to see this when using SR when you are not in the middle of a firefight and actually have time to analyze responsiveness of control. |

lol thats a good one, since killzone 2, everything seems smooth to me so i can't tell...
But really, it seems fine with me, maybe the "deadzone" is too big. |

First or fith gear. That is all we get. Meta level 1 aiming or meta level 5 aiming and nothing in between. |

I've adapted to it but I agree with the OP.
We should be able to set our own controller response curves, a simple 'sensitivity' setting doesn't really solve the problem for all players.
Customizable controller response curve would work for everybody. Include maybe 3 preset curves. |

Dont think it's ever been done on any console FPS, even just having the 3 pre-sets would be awesome. +1 from me. (maybe someone should put this in the request forum!) |

im positive its a deadzone issue i have been playing with the deadzone setting for the ps move controller and it does affect the normal controller
i know what u mean about aiming its annoying u see a guy at range who doesnt see u and try to put the dot on him and when u move control slowly to do so it all of a sudden jumps to the other side
imo the deadzones of the ps move controls shouldnt affect the duel shock |

Posting to confirm the devs need to be forced to use sniper rifles until they fix this issue. |

Something just occurred to me. How many ppl are using aim assist? I tried it for the first time today and learned that this is a useful crutch that actually masks poor control precision. So, my question to you guys is: how many of you are using aim assist?
Btw, it's a shame that it has become so mainstream for console FPS developers to push aim assist and turn competitive gaming into an overprotective noob breading pool and not even bother working on controller mechanics that are actually suitable for competitive gaming.
Please, let me know if you disagree with my second point - this topic is very interesting to me, much more so than more superficial issues such as present state of balancing, strafe, etc. |

Have had it off since it could be turned off and the deadzone issue is still there. It changes from weapon to weapon though.
Have turned aim assist back on when I tried the shotgun and HMG. Seemed to help reduce the aim flying off the screen after not moving for a second thing with those weapons. |

OP is exactly right. DUST currently does not have the same level of aim precision as a BF3, MW3, Killzone IMO. I'm not sure it's a deadzone issue, but rather a lag between a player's movement of the stick and the game executing that movement. Your initial movement doesn't register right away, so you move the stick further. Once the game executes the movement, you have already moved the stick too far. I think we have generally adapted to this, but we shouldn't have to. If I'm right, I'd imagine CCP has already noticed this. |

Or what happens in my case,it barely moves at all.
I think it's a major problem with your controls when to be more pinpoint precise when tracking a target laterally, you have to actually move your body(the left analog stick) instead of your gun(right stick).
