Funny thing is, logistics suit only has 1 weapon slot, so that picture is kind of weird to me. As for dual wielding SMGs in general, if it can be balanced properly, then I'm not against it. No reticle, massive accuracy decrease might do it. |

it did strike me as odd for a bit, but i think dual smgs could be a light weapon. possibly even an actual variant of smg could be optimized just for dual wielding.
though hows this for a bad idea - dual AR's/ Laser rifles taking up a heavy slot? |

One of my fellow Corp members was talking about that picture. It would be interesting, but it may take twice as long to reload, so I'm not sure how much of an advantage it would have over an assault rifle. |

And believe it or not DUCK TAPE could make it all possible. But perhaps that technology was lost when the wormhole closed....
I figured the Minmatar would bring it back and bind everything together - dual SMG's, AR's, Reppers, Forgeguns, Dropships,... ok now it's just silly. |

I like the idea. It would be no more powerful than a shotgun, and it could be an equipment item that gives you the ability, or a pg/cpu hike to prevent every tom, ****, & harry running around with dual Toxins on their Dragonfly. Final suggestion: have the proficiency skills apply as the standard do. So you would need proficiency lvl3 to dual wield advanced pistols, lvl5 for prototype. It's not exactly a game changer, & maybe not in high demand, but it would be an awful lot of fun to zip around in a scout dropsuit shredding ppl up. |

Firing one then switching to other before reloading as a cpu/pg/slot intensive(needs to fit both in different slots) form of extended mag seems useful in some conditions. This was done in real life when loading times were longer then modern guns, which Dust sidearms also are slow to reload.
A second realistic case is higher volume of inaccurate fire, this version of dual wield has been used by Russian special forces. Was more common before the 1950's when it was also used by soviet officers, made obsolete by modern smg.
In game it could be done by
- replace ads with firing the off hand gun, using sights while dual wielding is near-impossible
- add recoil and dispersion of each gun to the other, so recoil and dispersion would build up faster and to a higher maximum.
- reload button reloads the gun with the least ammo
- both guns need to be placed in slots and grouped with a addition action, like EvE weapon grouping.
This would allow carrying two side arms and switching to other like now, using both inaccuracy, or using it as a double size magazine.
The amount of recoil may need tweaking, trying to fire two smg should be inaccurate enough to make it only feasible at shotgun range. So most would just use smg and shotgun instead, but having option would be nice.
