Hi,
I was wondering what the mechanics behind this are?
I logged in last night (after fixing YLOD - it really does work) and managed to get into a game with only 3/4 minutes remaining. During that time, I managed to do nothing apart from die a few times (I'm rubbish at this game, but tonight was really bad).
However, I managed to pick up close to 11,000 SP (with bonus).
How did that happen? I am sure I didn't kill anyone and even if I did, it would have only have been one merc for sure.
Regards

there is a bug, just found yesterday, that the end screen is not always showing the correct numbers.
it was confirmed by CCP checking database to verify they actually did get their WP / ISK, but also confirmed a bug. So you may have ran into this bug |

CCP have not yet released this information. I don't think they will. If they did you'd have players focusing on the aspects of the game play that would provide them the most SP, ISK and loot.
One thing that does seem to hold true though, is that the accumulated WP does play into this heavily, at least for distribution of the fixed battle rewards. But there are other factors as people who have killed expensive players or tanks have suggested that they get a LOT more ISK when they do. |

The time you spend in the match is also a factor in determing your SP gain. Maybe it even matters what you actually do in this time, regardless of the number of WP you earn. And I suppose there is also a base value for SP gain that you get just by entering the match, everything else goes on top of that. I once joined a match and then immediately quit a few seconds later, I still got several thousand SP for that (I was far away from the cap). Another time, I was running around with my scout the whole time of a skirmish map, doing nothing but figuring out the active scanner. I earned 0 WP, died a lot and still ended up with 11k SP (no booster, and also far away from the cap). |

Something has changed. I have entered games before and done nothing, apart from die, and got no SP.
Also, I'm not sure if is being suggested that SP is being rewarded but isn't actually being received? I can confirm that I have spent rewarded SP, so it seems like that is not the case.

Rewards are partially determined by the meta level of you and the people you're fighting.
A big fluke is that, for no good reason, AUR weapons have lower meta levels than their ISK equivalents. It would benefit everyone, including AUR weapon users, if they had the same meta level as ISK weapons. |

Yes. Well yes, last build SP gain was only a function of how much WP you earned per match. This build, it's different, you never leave a match with 0 SP (except when you have hit the weekly SP cap). It was also stated in the patch notes iirc.

I can play one or two rounds tops, then I have to restart my PS3, else DUST crashes hard. If I enable my mic, I'm lucky for the PS3 to survive one round. Until that get more stable, I'll just play casually.

Assuming you have not hit your cap for the week, is there a minimum level SP that will be earnt?
It seems that currently that minimum is around 11,500 - 12,000 no matter what I do.
Two games in a row last night, in the first I sustained many losses and got maybe one kill and one assist along with some spawn drop points.
In the second game, I had probably my best ever K/D ratio of 5/2 along with, again, more drop spawn points.
In the first match I earnt 11,500 points and in the second I earnt 11,800.
As far as I was concerned I ended the second game thinking that if I got 11,500 for the first then this would be 20,000+ easy...... and sadly it wasn't.
Any ideas.

Has anyone confirmed what the weekly cap is? I read in another thread it was 900,000 or something. When I played last week, I earned roughly 700k and the diminishing returns eventually got to the point that I was only earning 2-3k SP per match. This week I was earning 20k on the first day, 10k on the second, and now am lucky if I top 3k (with boosters). I've only earned around 450k SP this week so for me this whole SP gain seems to be a bit buggy as I haven't come close to what I read the cap is and even when I have a great game (21-3 with 1500+ WP) I still only get 3-4K SP. Personally, I think the cap should be set on the accumulated total to date and not just cap out for the current week. |

This still doesn't seem right to me.
Just had a great game..... at least by my standards.
I placed a couple of great Drop links and must have picked up around ten or so spawn. I managed around four assists and four kills.
I got just over 12,000 SP.
Compare that to turning up and dying for 11,500...............

ok, so i guess im having the opposite problem as everyone else... i go into a match, kill 8-10 people, then at the end i very rarely get more than 3,000 sp.... i thought that was kinda low... any info? |

Actually I have the suspicion that if you die a lot in a game while earning little WP, you get more SP than if you die just once (and earn little WP). I also have the impression that skirmish games pay out more SP than ambush, but that might be just due to the fact that they tend to be much longer than ambush (talking about the SP/WP ratio, not the total number of WP earned).
@brett morris518: apparently, the closer you get to the weekly SP cap, the less SP you receive for every WP earned in a match. |
