A heavy with a Forge gun is primarily AV, it may be the only weapon he has available to him, should he be defenceless when running around in expensive AV gear?
As you saw in your first engagement, the Forge is a precision tool, you either hit, or you miss entirely, there is no splash to talk about.
If you can't take being shot at, go play Farmville. |

Anything that can kill a tank, can kill infantry. It may be overkill to do so, and aiming may be a problem, but I agree, an armour piercing round from a tank can kill a bunch of infantry quite easily. It it hits. |

Though it is a little annoying when sitting there, happily sniping, then you hear that wind up. It does take a few seconds to realize that it is coming from right behind you.
It sucks. |

I don't think you can kill infantry with swarm launchers, they do minimal damage and the individual missiles spread all to hell.
Not any longer. They made the SL lock to fire only.
I was thinking in more general terms of power. And I think it should. |

The Swarm and the Forge are two very different weapons types. One is a point and shoot, projectile or energy weapon. The other is a tracking/homing missile type, the latter should require a lock on a target before firing.
Besides, Swarms requires lighter suits, forge requires a heavy, meaning the swarm users have the ability to have a sidearm (pistol or SMG), the heavy does not have that slot, they should be allowed to use the Forge on people coming after them. |
