You can't kill them, they can kill you, bad players exploit etc. etc. |

I've seen Forge Guns drop them in one shot, and if they stop flying in circles for even a few moments the cloud of swarms following them will catch up and insta-gib them. |

Swarms do a lot of damage but can't track fast stuff. Try a forge gun or a rail gun. The dropships would be pointless without countermeasures. It's not as easy as it looks. |

IMO swarms should get faster as the tier increases. Militia swarms should stay slow, while prototype swarms should be noticeably faster. |

No, Forge Guns can't without extreme precision. |

It doesn't take that much precision, actually. The dropship has to stay at top speed constantly, which means it has to stay on basically the same course constantly. Change either of these and the cloud of swarms catches up and kills them. What this means is that it gets pretty easy to judge how much to lead a dropship by. A halfway decent forge gunner has no trouble hitting a dropship. |

So it takes an entire team of Swarms and Forge Gunners to kill one troop transfer. lolno |

Noc is the biggest exploiter ever. If you see him in-game, you should get him stuck on the front of your LAV, and send him for a ride through the redzone. |

I was a huge forge gun user back in the free vehicle build. It was very difficult to hit such a fast moving target using that weapon. Most shots on dropships I got were lucky and they mostly ate into the dropship around 50-75% in terms of HP. This gave almost all dropship pilots time to burn out of the draw distance range and repair themselves.
I personally think a missile is better suited to take down an aerial target, especially one that can move that fast. You say use forge guns. Well heavies don't exactly move fast and forge guns are slow enough to charge that a dropship can drop kill the heavy rather easily. A more mobile ground soldier using a swarm launcher should make more tactical sense I say. However with current mechanics such a soldier is rather useless.
Since I have not had any forge gun experience this build I do realize that I need to see for myself the merits if any the argument of the forge gun versus dropships has. I will have to wait until next week though to do so as I have hit my SP cap. |

Swarms are a broken weapon all around. They don't do what they should, and they do too much for too little effort what they do do. Swarms do drive it away, that's the most you should expect from a militia weapon. Drop the damage, add flares, then start improving the tracking.
However why do you need a whole team? It just takes one to knock it around like a rag doll. |

I was having a fun-ass duel with another dropship until a single rocket from a swarm threw me into a tower and I rolled end over end into the dirt. |

Bad thread. You're bad at countering Dropships, blame Dropships for you being bad. gg. |

There are no free hard counters to dropships (swarms are soft counter that force them to keep moving). There are however militia options and of course the specialized forge gun. |

Using the dropship without dying requires 2 things, an excellent pilot and an excellent gunner. Kinda sick of hearing about how everything in this game is OP when its used skillfully. That said, swarms need an adjustment to the flightpath, and dropships need countermeasures added in. |
