they could have just made an orbital strike be worth around 3X more then what it was. they did not need to make repairing useless, they did not need to nerf the amount we all gain from orders.
They just had to do ONE thing. That`s it. |

they should have just made it where only enemy damage can be repaired. If you wreck your stuff well thats just too bad. |

Its not the best solution. Hoping they have something together for the next build. Its a shame that everything has to be nerfed to cater for the lowest lifeforms in any instance. |

You're assuming that the only purpose for reducing the bonus WP for doing stuff in squad radius was to limit the use of orbital strikes. Maybe they actually thought that the bonus WP was too high and wanted to reduce it anyway.
As for the repairing bit, on IRC they apparently said that this would be a temporary change until a more comprehensive fix to the exploit is done next build. |

I feel the same way as OP. Chosen role on the battle field as a squad commander up in smoke, and all sp training for this build in support kind of useless. Ah well, it was good to be squad commander, July to October, 2012. RIP.
But yeah, it is kind of like:

The hyperbole in these threads is astounding. You'd think the only reason some of you are playing the game is to get WP from repairing things and to get exactly +125 WP for killing people near an objective and not a single point less. |

The repair tool was zeroed out as a quick server side fix for SP farming. They needed a fix that could be implemented with a simple number change. It's temporary until they can address it more comprehensively.
The rest of the WP reduction was due to OB spamming from legit gme play. They just came too fast.
It might have gone a bit too far the other way. |

Doing that would require a larger rewrite of the code handling damage, in order to be able to score multiple damage sources. That is a change for a new build, not a patch.
They did say the current changes were temporary, till they can put in a better, permanent, system.
