Remove the current sp system and put in EVE original system, it works so much better for casual gamers like me, i only have 1-2 hours or less per day, and i suck at playing Dust, that limits my SP gain per match like 2-5k per match. i refuse to play months to get certian skills to lvl 5.
with the old i can log in and put my skills to que and grind a little Isk before going to bed.
Make the game all about ISK :P

Under the Eve system you have to wait months and sometimes more to get a skill to level 5. this system just also rewards you for playing... |

just my thoughts Negative. In EVE it takes a year of skilling up before you're ready to do anything serious, that's why I don't play it. Some people have that level of patience, I frankly don't, and it's not because I have no patience as anyone whose ever played any iteration Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, Victoria, or Hearts of Iron without a working manual can attest. Nor do I think most FPS gamers have that level of patience as we like progression, we like the number of skills and equipment available to reflect our efforts on the battlefield. If CCP were to do that I think you'd see a lot of people, myself included, just say 'kitten it' and drop Dust or go play Planetside 2 if they already have a PC to run it. |

I greatly prefer Eves leveling system. To the post above, It doesn't take years before you can do anything 'serious'. You just need to be smart in how to skill up. You can make hundreds of millions of isk or billions a day in just a few months. My money maker has only about 4 months of training and rolled 20m isk into several billion.
Sadly most FPSs don't have the patients to wait for a skill to train. Just look at how many people are complaining about the slow training time even though it seems WAY too quick. In two weeks my character already has most everything I really wanted...
There should, however, be more emphasis on passive training rather than active. The system now only allows you to advance one day out of a week. Wednesday I got about 300k SP and yesterday I got about 20k SP... There needs to be a better solution. |

Talk about seriously miss-informed.....
It doesn't take anywhere close to a year to do anything serious.
There are players that have made 100B ISK within 4 months. There are players that scout and skirmish for top alliances within 4/5 month.
I'm not sure how you established that, but if you were told that is the case then I feel for ya!

really because I'm still getting 12k sp per game today. I'm glad my weekend isn't full of playing people with 10 million sp on the 2nd week allready like last build.
also eve doesn't take very long to skill up. They fixed that, there are no more learning skills, you get a double sp rate at 1st...
Maybe that's all dust needs, a double sp gain rate up to 2 million sp. For the new players, just like eve online has. I was one of the biggest things in eve that let players get into good ships asap.
also why do you want to play only dust? You can play... ready for this? GASP play TWO GAMES! : O
When your not in corp battles or whatever play somethig different. Unless you need to grind for isk or take part in a war. But this is a good thing, you can get full sp gain all week by either playing other games, or having a life. Go outside how in the world did you play so much allready |

It's about building the social layer and comms. Even with frigs if you are in a group you can be as effective in just a few days. Take a good lesson from FW, most people use cruisers and small ships (cheap to lose). So in Dust it can be similar. You need a good leader in a good corp and to work in group. It doesn't really matter how many SPs you gain. Even with the basic setup you can kill well and have fun.
In terms of SPs, well it depends a lot on CCP's strategy.... what is the player profile sought and what other games in this space offer. Progression is definitely important and rewarding the player is a key element of successful games. Quick progression would require a fast pace of expansions releases with loads of new things added, so people keep skilling up for new things.
I am sure CCP will find the right balance. |

EVE's skill system is fine to use, I always trained to fly a Hulk first and it didn't take to long, making money was easy to, especially when in the Hulk lol
I was actually expecting Dust to use EVE's system and it'd be great for gamers to be able to play and then maybe switch to let's say Skyrim for a period and keep your skills training while your busy slaying mudcrabs ;-) |
