This is kinda what it feels like using the starter fits. Except the only difference is a drake lols at an ibis but a expensive drop suit dies to the starter fit. I'm not complaining I Love free fits killing expensive ones. And ifcthe isk pay outs don't get better there is guna be a hole lot of starter fits on the field. Which is probably by design. These matches are like highsec matches and arnt saposed to give great rewards. See eve highsec missions. You go ibis fits! |

It's bullshit*t. Why am I being penalized for actually contributing and using higher end suits, just so my enemies get more ISK. |

Its not a penalty these matches and rewards reflect their impact on new Eden. Less impact equals less reward. Its your own dumb falt for loosing expensive stuff when you shouldn't be. Now corp battles are different that's where you should be haring the expensive stuff. |

I'd like to see more and better suits, more and better rewards, as well as more and better bonuses from skills (think ship bonuses in EVE) |

I think that ultimately there should be equipment restrictions by security level. |

Sandboxes with restrictions are kittens. Although restrictions on play arnt unheard off in eve. I.e capitals in highsec. So maybe restricting drop suits no but restricting tanks yes? |

It's more like ibis vs merlin, velator vs incursus, reaper vs rifter, or impairir vs punisher when you consider the class, price difference etc. |

Expensive items are meant for corp battles, the whole point is that you don't break even. You use expensive items to win important battles, not make ISK. |

i like how people are comparing their precious proto suits to battlecruisers.
you know roughly how much isk you will be making per match, why are you pumping more than that per suit. |

It makes sense for the high end gear mostly being used for proper Contracts. The ISK available for the right team would likely be a lot higher, and the stakes certainly are.

as far as limitations go, i expect that it will probably be orbital bombardments that are the first to go, along with probably commander position, your working for NPC corps for the most part in empire, why would they let one of the expendables be in charge? start breaking into lowsec and nullsec i could see off site support start raining down though, where they can be countered in space by other players
for those of us who dualbox and beyond in EVE, while trying to play dust, how hard would it be to move a battleship to an orbit over the next battlefield? dust mercs, from what the lore says, hot drop into a combat zone via something akin to a clone jump(its been a while since i read it and it wasnt very clear about getting there as it was more focused in the post battle carnage), meaning they could be on a planet in and or around dodixie one moment, then the next quick match drops them out near jita in the forge... a battleship would be hard pressed to make it on grid in time to be useful without ignoring dust and being useless in empire. though i wager for factional warfare theyll be using a smaller swath of space(the borderzones between the capitals instead of ALL of the empire systems) at which point youd be capable of getting on site to do some good, but also be counter attacked by other players
as for the risk vs reward, as mentioned previously, you arent just getting arbitrary numbers for payouts, its usually around the same payouts, and your suits dont just change on the fly so you know about how much each one runs at any given time. if you cant afford to dedicate more than 1-2 suits a match, start using militia gear to finish out the game or ragequit now... proto suits compared to battlecruisers i think is about a fair assessment, when militia suits are compared to rookie ships or frigates. you can afford to field them on a individual level but a couple losses and your back to your good ol' rifter for a bit. thats part of what makes this game different from Call of Honor and Medal of Duty, that you arent just given an infinite cache of ultimate weapons makes this game have somewhat greater impact. rolling deep with a few guys in militia suits swarming a proto suit and taking him down is just that much sweeter because you know your doin some harm to his stockpiles. same with vehicles, nothin sweeter than swarming an advanced tank with rookie gear and gettin the sweet delicious kill, mmm, soo many tears, mmm, theyre so delicious!
and in refrence to that nagl kill by rookieships, if it were piloted, those rookieships wouldnt ahve been able to take it down, the reps on a dread can handle somethin like 1.6k hp/s (3.5k+ hp/s after resists), it was probably abandoned in a wh which doesnt really count as a loss if theyd already left it, or set to self destruct part way through the fight, and self destructed dreads doesnt really count as killed by rookieships |
