Which is blatantly is. 2shot kills have never been easier. But you won't say it's not needed, because it benefits you. Sure, you can say that last build was all ballerinas. But ballet is better than this. Check any Euro gamer preview, and they say its bland and nothing special. We don't need a cover friendly, first to look/kill, game. There's tons of those out there. Last build, and replication, even E3 were unique. We don't need this. We need Dust.
Also, this is my fourth character this build. I built up a cool Assault fit and kicked ass, but realized I wasn't having fun, and made new ones just to find something unique using the Starter SP. I was disappointed. I realize it's a beta, so I'm trying to give feedback.
Edit: Also, what is up with the nerds/buffs at the same time? If you nerf one thing, do not buff its counterpart... https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=41196&find=unreadDUST Fiend wrote:Perhaps they could consider adding a "strafe sprint" that consumes a lot of stamina quickly, but gives you a burst of speed while strafing, though you would be unable to shoot, just like normal sprinting. Aside from that, the pace is actually quite good now. I'd also like to point you to THIS thread, which just discusses the following: (these are just suggestions to get the mind rolling, please don't freak out if you don't agree)
- Dodge - Allow running while strafing (and list strafe speeds in suit statistics along with turning speeds).
- Duck - Switching back and forth between a normal run and a low profile run with crouch.
- Dip - Low profile run (use run command while crouched, disables jump and forces a roll or a tumble at the end of the run before stopping - can only be used when running forward).
- Dive -Tumble or Roll to end a normal run (while running press the crouch button).
- Dodge - Jumping while running with strafe causes the user to launch into sideways jump rather than a vertical jump.
2 threads which pertain to strafing, movement and gameplay. And how they're all complete ****. We discuss things in general discussion...
At one point one of the players participating in the discussion for the first post dismisses another player because "he wasn't a veteran". The current strafe speed probably isn't the final strafe speed, but that doesn't mean that we need a security blanket solution of "give me moar strafe speed ."
The second post was looking for other options, and devolved into a "buff strafe speed/don't buff strafe speed" argument with a good amount of name calling, ideas ignored under the cry of "MOAR STRAFE SPEED," and ignorance.
Don't forget:

Of course you will be able dodge a scrubs bullets in a random lobby. That doesn't happen with these strafe speeds when two talented players go head to head. Clearly when you have gungame you don't need cover, squadmates, strategy, or teamwork -- just strafe speed for your 1v1 gun fights. After all, we're playing Dust: 1v1. What else would we want to cater to? |
