Quote:while on the subject of vehicles. I propose CCP makes even basic LAV's cost something. It's extremely frustrating to get run over by a "welfare" LAV, knowing that guy just took out 50-100k worth of dropsuit with a free vehicle. I say LAV's should cost something like 200k. nothing too terribly expensive, but definitely enough to make you not want to waste it by driving it around willy-nilly.
edit: alternately, you could make it so that running someone over does equal (or close to it) damage to the LAV as the LAV did to the dropsuit. so if you go to run over a heavy, you can almost expect your LAV to blow up, or come close to it.
Quote:^ As some one who is speccing into lav i would kindly ask you to go **** yourself. call in a Welfare LAV and just try and do what you have just described and you will find your self dead inside a minuet.
as for cost per iteration. why? its a BPO; there are free Drop suits guns and the like, why should't we have a (at the very least a cheep) glass cannon to get around in.
as for your edit, NO! or a the very least give LAVs an extra high power slot and a cow-catcher shield Mod to deal with that kind of lunacy.

I don't think Orrin really knows the true threat AV grenades represent to LAV's. it just takes 2 to pop a free one |

After some thought, I don't actually mind the free LAV, but since it's free, I think the damage idea should be taken into consideration. How is it you can slam into a 5-600 lb. heavy dropsuit, and take no damage?
Make it so when you damage a person, they damage your LAV equally.
Ha, any time.
Ironic kitten made a good point on this topic on another tread on this topic.
Quote:When I was working late as a teacher's aid one night some ******* put his car through the wall of the classroom I was in and almost hit me. He had some older model towncar that looked like it had driven up from Mexico and after he got out he dusted off his car's hood (not a ******* scratch on it) then drove off.
If the car doesn't have a crumple zone then hitting anything that isn't a stationary object is a high impact event with the full force of the vehicle being thrown into it. I'd imagine that the rigid metal frames of our LAVs are more solidly constructed than any of our much more form fitting drop-suits.
The fact is that we're still human inside of our dropsuits & it doesn't take much to get to the chewy center of our tootsie roll pops. Don't want LAVs to run you over? MTAKs, coming SoonGäó.
I'm fine with a little damage but it Shouldn't cripple my LAV! I'm already a painted target for swarms. |
