So have decided that its about time to get myself a mic, but the question is what should I get?
I would like it to be a mic that I can also use with the computer but would also like to not use a usb port. I know I can get a blue tooth adapter for the computer. I would also not like to spend a lot on it due to limited funds, but by all means suggest expensive ones you may sway me.
So the question is, what do you suggest?
p.s. also anyone had any experience with the small keyboards you can get to connect to the ps3 controller?
*EDIT*
I live in the UK

Go to Walmart or Radio Shack and get a cheap $20 USB one and be done with it. Sorry if you don't want a USB, but with limited funds you don't have much of a choice. I think bluetooth starts right around $50. |

The front of my PS3 needs more damn USB plugs. So many things plugged in to play this game.
I'd still recommend USB. It requires no extra power, it has no lag, and it's generally much cheaper. The only reason not to is if you have kids and/or pets who will chew or tug on the cords while you're using them. The simple solution to both is a watergun. |

I recommend the turtle beach PBT. Its a little blue tooth headset for the PS3 and also works on laptops and phones. Voice quality is really good and bestbuy had them for $20

You can also get stores likt Frys to price match the $20 (they sell for $30) |

Is this a bad point to also add that I live in the UK?
thanks for the responses so far. I will go with a USB if I have too, just wondered what my other alternates were.
can you put a usb hub or something on the ps3? or even use the usb slots that are on the back of the keyboard (keep forgetting about them). |

I got really small and cheap Belkin USB hub, works fine. Because of the hubs, I'd relly recommend USB kb and mic. Mouse depends on if you can bare the kittening cable... |

I use one of those $50 official PlayStation bluetooth ones and it works great. A friend of mine got one of those weird "throat mic" USB deals for like $20 and he says his works great, too. |

not wanting to pollute GD with another topic I thought I would necro this one.
First of all I'm still on the hunt for a mic but have decided that a usb one may not be so bad. I have started looking at turtle beach heads sets, but have a few questions on them.
What is the voice feedback like on them? is it annoying at all and can you turn it down/ off. is it true if you mute the mic it makes a beeping noise every so often?
again thanks for the help |
