Well the title presumably says it all. Small maps. Especially as it stands this moment. The maps are w-a-y too large and barren for what there is in terms of interactivity; from soldiers to objectives. There is just too little all around to support this overly large long distant multiple sprint maps. Even upping the supported player population would not fix the issue. What you need to do is cut the map sizes further down, or increase the allowed character population, add in a number of more interactive items. The few turrets, or supply depots, and the possible three to four CRU's is pitiful given the size of the map itself. I say reduce the overall map size twenty percent at most and keep everything else the same, or add more to interact with including more soldier interaction. I should not have to sprint four full lengths to just to get one kill... That is pitiful if you ask me. We really need to increase the baseline of allowable players. Granted you have not fixed the Sisi lag on this server, but it does need an increase. The maps overall are barren, unlikable, frustrating, too large, too inactive, and over saturated with terrain glitches, hiccups, and snags. We are suppose to be soldiers, but my soldier cannot even get over a pebble without taking damage, or jump a ledge without half a stamina bar. Pathetic.
We as players should be me making more skill points. This does not mean increase the base value of skill points. No, decrease the sizes of the map, and compress/condense them into smaller maps which will equal more interaction between players, and interactive items. This is my simplest answer I can give you on this subject. Though by decreasing the overal maps themselves you could also or finally introduce simaltaneous battles -- a kin to MAG in a sense. Where they had two matches going on at once in the same map. We need that almost. However first decreasing the map sizes will help players actually feel like they are playing an FPS rather a SFPG (Sprinting First Person Game). This is not some marathon game. My soldier obviously is not in well enough shape for that. Sense the bitterness? Seriously though decrease the map sizes, increase play base per match(es), add a for more interactives, and things will be a little more tolerable. People will earn more ISK, and SP even. Especially since we would actually be fighting one another. Woohoo!
Dust?.. More like a tumbleweed in the dust of a ghost town. Everyone is afraid to fight, and die. The games population needs encouraging. Force them to fight, and kill one another. Soak the dusty barren earth below their feet with blood and nanites! |
