Remember to place those objectives! When I'm in a squad, i'd really like to know where we should be going instead of scattering all over the map. Not all of us have headsets so if you're giving orders verbally I, for one can't hear them at the moment so it's vital to place the objective markers, right?
I know this has been addressed at least few times, but here we go again.
Sincerely yours Repe, the master of dying.
*EDIT*
So guys if you see me, feel free to add me to your squad. I will be following orders, but you have to give them! |

I constantly place objective commands, but I always get landed with chuckleheads for squad mates who would rather go in the opposite direction to whatever command I've issued. I would LOVE to be squad leader to a squad who will listen/pay attention, too much to ask for I guess. |

I can imagine the feeling. I would LOVE to be in a squad which works towards given objective. I guess many players just want to hog up WPs by running towards hackable points and whatnot, and hey! I do that too! (When solo) Still, if we are given an objective, I'd really like to see a team working towards that goal. |

lol @ chuckleheads!!
Sometimes I just stare at the map in disbelief, wondering what they are thinking to themselves!

I agree with OP but still, get yourself a mic man! I can't understand why you wouldn't wanna play with one. One thing is basic communication but another and very rewarding thing is the 3D sense you get, you can hear where fire is coming from and so on. |

I haven't gotten myself a mic just yet, because I am test-playing Dust to see if I'm ready to commit to it. As I do not play other MMOxxx's I really don't have use for one besides this game.
Also, i've been reading about the problems with voice-comms so i'm really unsure which kind of headset I should get. No point splurging tens, even over hundred Gé¼ for a set which, for a reason or another, does not get used.
Still, I think, the point remains: Place those damn objectives! Leader gets points (also others, I think?), everybody knows where should we go and so on. |

Funny thing is, I'm the new guy. :) That's why I want to know what I should be doing instead of running amok haha. No, I mean it's just way more satisfying to play when I have clear goals opposed to thinking 'hmm, I should try getting to point B to try and hack.. where's everybodOOOHHGOD' *splat* OR reinforcing point with many teammates without knowing what I should do next. Running alone IS dangerous. |

Every squad leader should be putting down objectives. If you are new to the game ask your squad what to do, I am sure if you have any players who have done it before in your squad they will help.
On the hearing issue. Make sure you go into settings and turn on voice chat, it is still set to default off. Also activate voice on the squad chat whether you have a mic or not, this way you will still be able to hear the squad leader (if he has a mic) without needing to communicate with them. |

Ehh, that's what I'm saying :D The few times I've been squad leader I know how to, and I've always placed objectives so that's not a problem.

I did that last build, but only once in a blue moon I heard anything. And the guy (I presume he was SL) wasn't giving commands on objectives, but cursing and sighing into the mic. So it seems to me that not so many Squad Leaders give commands via voice. That's my experience anyway. |

Markers and objectives NEED to be set regardless of having a mic or not. |

Yep. I just thought that SL would communicate SOMEHOW to his/her squad. Even if only via voice. I don't understand why not use the options available as SL because it makes the fight better and helps winning it. There's no downside to it. Anyway, we'll see tonight!

In public games, many people do not even realize that they have been assigned as squad commander. You may have even been that squad leader on your first game ever.
Also, you do not need a microphone to hear verbal commands. You can activate voice without one and still hear. |

Thanks. I think I'll play as a squad member, not leader for a while still, being newbie and all just to get in touch with the system but that said, do you mind if I add you? I'd really like to see squad action as it should be. I will follow commands to my best. (Which is not saying it's much though) |

The laws of dust:
-Teammates will not help. They are not teammates. -They should be referred to solely as civilians. -If you get revived it's a family doctor. -If they capture an objective they are known as militia. -When civilians group up, it usually means a lot of combat. So, you should avoid it because it'll be you vs the enemy team, with some civilians watching the fight. -If there is a tank, it's your job to take it out. Militia are not supplied with explosives. They will not do it. -Civilians deserve to be insulted if you are speaking to them on comms, and they are bitching about anything. -Never assume they have your back. They don't, it'll get you killed. -They will not follow orders, it's more of a be within maps length of this location, if you issue an order. |
