Since the last build, hit detection has been drastically improved - despite arguments against it having ever been an issue. For this, i am very thankful to CCP.
However, from playing as a Forge Gun user/Militia Sniper, i have noticed that this issue was not totally fixed, although it is significantly better. I believe that by using these two setups, I have chosen two weapons very drastically impacted by this bug, given that both really fire only once and the user really needs to make sure those shots count.
Sniper Rifles: I noticed that the problem of bullets displaying a hit (hit indicator on cross hairs, as well as a visible shield flash) but registering absolutely no damage. This seems to happen more often on moving targets, which is an improvement over the last bild, where it occurred on stationary ones. Additionally, this problem also seems to occur a lot around capturable obstacles. Initially, I wrote this off as an error with the obstacle's shields, however on one occasion I was able to repeatedly fire on an individual, flaring their shields. Seemingly, the individual in question also noticed the fire, as they kept turning in response to it.
Forge Guns: These also display hit detection issues, which I mostly noticed in two situations. The first being when firing on troops in support of assault suits, I often hit beside the enemy, to have no damage register - indicating a problem with splash damage detection. Secondly, when facing down enemy vehicles and firing directly on them, my shots sometimes register no effect. Given that in these situations I am firing on LAVs, which tend to be one shot kills, it proved a little frustrating to be run over by the vehicle I just shot and which took no damage.
Sorry if this is a bit rambly, but I hope feedback like this can help CCP to correct hit detection issues, as this can be a very debilitating problem for an FPS. |

this is a problem that has been brought up before and i am confidant they know about the issue.
as for the forgeguns i wouldn't know i don't use them because i never really used them.

Haven't experienced it playing my logi, but when I snipe I've had the same problem. Even stationary targets. And when it happens on the stationary targets, I literally will shoot 4 or 5 rounds, dead center, and nothing will happen. |

Yeah...especially annoying when trying to kill other snipers...when I don't hit a SMG, it's no big deal, but when I am killed by someone who should have about 5 slugs in his brain, it sucks... |

Yeah, it's pretty frustrating to get 3 or 4 shots off, right on target, and nothing happens, and then the other guy nails you. |

I have com across this too. The funniest thing was I wasnt able to kill someone behind a supllydepot but as he shoots back I was dead :/ |

CCP only stated that they improved hit detection and the draw distance.... not fixed it. We'll get there. |

I think they done wonders with the draw distance,but hit detection is still way off seems to me that they slowed the gameplay right down to mask their hit detection problem .This morning 5 shots head and body all hits and nothing then i'm dead . As you say "we'll get there", i hope so to. At the moment it's going to cost me a fortune when the controller gets thrown through my TV. |
