ive been using them alot this build, and so far i can say that eh diference between standard adv and proto are totally not as big as they should be.
the damage of the LR is also not impressive until youve fired it for a bit causing you to waist ammo very often
based on its firerate, and max ammo my solution to the gun would be to either make it consume ammo slower, or give it more max ammo because so far it seems sort of like its supposed to play the role of LMG, and i can honestly say that the gun needs something, im not asking for it to be god mode gun, but i just feel like it doesnt have much to offer vs assault rifles,
i honestly thought it would be a weak gun with unlimited ammo, and i actually think that would be a nice way to help me out as a logi that way i dont consume my own nano hives, and can focus more on the team, just keep them moderately weak that way they arent OP or used by everyone |

The gun is great at hitting guys who are unaware or who are crossing open terrain.
One tip. If they dont know you are there. shoot it over their head or where they dont see it. Let it build up power then drop it on em. Scouts and assaults, even logis wont have time to react before they die in 1-2.5 seconds. If you hit them right away the damage is not high enough yet to avoid them having the chance to run away.
the thing is that you will waste alot of ammo doing that, and if your a good logi like i am u generally live a long time and most of the shooting u do is from a range, this causes me to run out of nano hives alot cause ill go a whole match maybe only dying 2 or 3 times, and maybe only gettin 4 or 5 kills, but i actually shoot alot, so i would prefer to not eat up my own nano hives. especially now that they can replenish grenades, so theyre used by my squad mates that carry AV nades all the time. |

agreed, honestly more guns could use this mechanic, i know the HMG would be alot beter if instead of reload speed u had to worry about cooling speed, and didnt have to reload for a long ass time before you could run out of a place |

all i really want this post to do is come up with a real way for the laser rifle to be a smart choice over an AR, as far as i know LR are more expenisve and heavier, and as a logi i want a really light gun, but i dont want to be screwed out of ranged combat, and also i dont want to have to rely on nano hives because i generally like to save those for my squad mates. right now im going with the AR because i can more efficiently land hits with it, and i can fight at really long ranges with it, and the best part is that if someone getsclose up i can still fight them with the AR |
