I like that we get random equipment at the end of battles but i've thinking that there could be some changes.
When i look at the quality range, it seems we mostly or only get advanced gear with the salvage. I have high end dropships, jeeps and tanks, high end weapons and high end dropsuits (that i can't use). And i get that the frequence we get salvage seems fine for how good these items are but couldn't they also inclued lower quality equipment (actually useful in the short run) in the salvage and thus increase a little bit salvage frequence? |

they did in the previous build, the idea is that eventually if you cant use these high end items, you can place them back on the market

It would be nice to think eventually we could do our own 'salvaging'. Would certainly make the squad leaders job a little more miserable trying to keep troops in line to attack the objective rather than loot.
Perhaps even an amount of time post battle to loot the field before being lifted off? Not easy to do i'll admit but it would certainly add something. |

I dont like this idea as you will get people running around in the free suits not playing the game but just salvaging, just a way of isk farming instead of SP |

Exactly as I pointed out, something to keep the squad leaders busy. Absolutely anything can be abused.
Looters generally get hung. Being shot by friendly fire does the trick. As I said, not easy to implement, but imo would add something missing at present (even if included post battle i.e. scavenging the burnt out wrecks of armoured vehicles). |

I still think it should be stuff that was "lost in action" by those who played the game. So you shoot some pro guys and your team win. Some of the pro guys stuff will be given to the other team. not a sagaris when there wasn't even a tank on the map.. |

still not convinced :)
but i could see this as a PVE activity, arriving at a battle site where there's burnt out tanks and stuff and you have to salvage whilst repelling rouge drones that wants the salvage too. |

I would like to see low end salvage return. It's nice to pick up the occasional useful item. |

Thats exactly what I had in mind. No point in having loot drops if its stuff that never 'existed' on that map.

Thats actually an interesting idea. Even an after battle salvage crew fighting off scavengers. Anyway, hoping its on the agenda somewhere. Cheers for debating without insults |

CCP said that they would give out more high end loot but rarer than in the previous build. And I couldn't agree more. What will I do with 5 militia shield extenders? Save a pittance of Isk for my next 5 loadouts?
No its way better this way. Presumably it will be possibru to sell these items on the open market, or not least share them with your corp mates. I'd rather get the occational Sagaris for LOLs or in my case sharing with the Tankers of my clan rather than get a minor ISK savings. I suspect the occational Proto AR suit or gun will occationally come my way aswell.

I kind of like the high end salvage, once I get real good with submachine guns, I can use my extensive supply of guilt-free high end sub-guns, with out spending one International Space Ka$h (ISK |

No, Salvage should be low, mid, and high grade equipment. Stuff I can use now and stuff I can sell.
What we will battle in the most is low to mid grade, saving the high grade for once in a while corp battles or simply times to own on the battlefield.
BTW does everyone get salvage? is it random? I only get it when I am in the top two - is that normal?
PS - of course we will be able to sell our gear in later builds |

CCP stated they removed the lower level items becasue they wanted the higher level items, when they did drop, to be of more use. So while you will see less salvage overall, the items you get will be better overall too.
As well, they stated there is still some tweaking that needs to be done, such as being able to sell it back on the market, trade it, corp bank, etc... There's also tweaks to what is being salvaged for you. For instance, getting 10 Scout Officer suits, when clearly you used Logi-suits, have nothing but a militia sniper [starter] dropsuit (no other sniper suits), and tons of various levels of Logi-Suits. So there are things that will come.
And really, the ISK you get from a normal ambush / skirmish match should cover the cost of the the low end equipment. 1 Fit I have I know is 12,500 for 1 suit. I easily get 60k a match so that's 6 suits I can afford to lose and still GAIN a small amount of ISK. I typically switch to a non-militia fit once I know how the battle is going. If I see the team is in no way trying to have any teamwork and is just hap-hazzardly running around, I won't take out my better stuff cause they obviously don't care. now if my team is working well together, I will gladly bring out my higher end equipment.
And no, not everyone gets salvage in a match. Some do, some don't. |

I didn't mean that there should be a switch from high end to low end equipment, just that perhaps we could get salvage more frequently if there was low end stuff involved.
I don't know exactly how the game decides to give out salvage and what to give but maybe instead of giving me fancy dropships in 1 match out of 10, it could still give me high end stuff in that same low frequent while giving less advanced stuff in, say, 3/4 matches out of those 10. Also, it bugs me that apparently the game only gives away a very limited set of things, it's either weapons (grenades included), suits or vehicles. I don't get a module or turrets, armor or shield.
Or maybe the game could be made to detect what skills we have or are upgrading and decide on salvage based on that, which would be preferable for me. So say you have SP invested on assault rifle skills, it would give me assault rifles instead of weapons i'm not intending to ever use. And that way the salvage could start being actually useful earlier. I get baffled at how much i'd have to upgrade to use most of the salvage i received, it's just not useful to me and won't be for quite some time. |

I agree. While I see a good combination to make matter fair for those who don't care for it and want to just jump in the battle. I think it would be pretty tight for the victors to get together and search out some salvage and loot "provided they have the suits and modules for it" It adds more depth to the game in a micro profession as well as a little post-match fun :)
And I also argee that it could get chaotic...but that's the point right? Corps would have to learn teamwork for it and pure freelancers would have to deal with whoever has the biggest stick or in this case, best equipment/skills. This is similar to Eve where you receive small rewards and boons for just blitzing, yet if you take the time after you can reap a lot of little treasures and more iskies.
To go further, you might even see some of the first "pirates" as they will be able to band together in a post match and dominate the hidden post-loot. Damn, I like it more and more |

I just can't wait till we can sell this stuff.
That with easily counterbalance the low ISk rewards from matches. |
