The higher the Meta Level a player is using the more the person gets for killing that player. Say you kill someone that has Meta Level gear of 7+. You'll earn more ISK. Not many understand the Meta Level game or Dust/EVE so they are QQing and saying ISK is so low. If they learn the Meta Level game, they'll see ISK isn't low at all. |

When you look at a play, you can see some of the gear of that player. |

Look at the type of dropsuit they're wearing and go from there. When you target an enemy, it'll say STD, or MLT, or whatever to indicate that it's a standard or militia tier suit. If you wait a moment longer it'll show specifically what kind of suit they're in. You can infer what kind of modules the enemy is liable to be using based on that. As it happens, most people are using the starter fits for some ungodly reason. So no surprise that ISK gain is maybe a bit low. |

Unless they allow for more in-depth scanning the only meta levels you'll be able to determine will be the weapon (if you're familiar with it) and the dropsuit.
Higher meta level items will typically require more skills, have higher DPS and larger clip sizes than their lower meta counterparts. Before the reset I picked up an AR that had a 50% bonus to clip size compared to other ARs that required the same level of skill. Thing would shoot like an HMG without the overheat. |

I doubt it works like this. If I remember this correctly, devs said that they can't calculate your loot/isk based on whom you killed.
Also, if it works like this. What should you do to earn more ISK? Don't kill militia geared mercs? Hunt mercs with expensive ISKs? Leave match if there isn't good number of mercs with expensive gears in opposite team? You kill what you can. You don't select more expensive prey. There is nothing you should understand about it. |

I want to bump this thread again.
So, if you kill someone has with high metal level, you get more in return. I heard that if you're using a lower meta level loadout and you killed someone who has higher than yours, you get more in return. Can someone clarify this? |

I love how people think the equipment Meta Level (which is a number designating how "advanced" something is) has anything to do with what Eve players call the "Meta-Game". The Meta-Game is about the overall game and how well you or your Alliance is doing. Think spies, infiltration and the like. Not "I killed you in your Proto-Suit". Dust will fit into the Meta-Game of Eve in the Planetary Interaction aspect. The major Alliances control the systems, and the planets in those systems they place PI structures. We will be able to fight for control of the land those structures are on.
To answer the OPs question, the Meta Level of something is the level of advancement from the basic, or militia item. As far as does it give increased rewards for killing it? That is what I have heard, but I haven't paid it enough attention to confirm. |

I started using starter kits again. Now, with less effort I get paid more as well as SP. |
