ok been thinking of a few ways to alter the system.
idea #1 Keep the diminishing returns and the hard cap the way it is. Add Sp pool rollover. basically any unused sp from the previous week is then added to the new pool. that way you never LOSE out on potential sp you could have earned from grinding to 0
idea #2 Remove diminishing returns leave Hard cap the way it is. Let the players Hit there zero SP and move on to the next character or game they wish to play.
Idea #3 make it all passive and say kitten to instant gratification
Idea #4 make diminishing returns stricter and have an SP pool equal to what it takes to train every skill in the game. so as your Total SP increases, the amount you get after every battle decreases. good for leveling up new players to compete but keeping high level players from having everything.
Idea #5 Get rid of passive SP gain. set a hard cap of 1 mil per week since game release is added to there sp pool. so basically if you join the game 1 month later then release you start with 4mil sp in pool. start a year later and you would have 52mil sp in your pool. would recommend hard caps on the amount of SP per battle.
Idea #6 total anarchy remove all caps and diminishing return restrictions let it run rampant.
Idea #7 (by Mira Adari) I like a combination of 1 and 2. Remove the diminishing returns, but -¦have a hard cap. When you don't reach the cap in one week, add the reminding SP to the next week's cap.
any other idea's the community can think of please list them also post which one you like if currently listed. |

Have an SP pool, but allow players to buy banks for about 2 mil ISK which allow an additional 1 mil SP gain. Keep the hard cap, but slightly lower the strictness of diminishing returns. |

I would prefer that they remove Decay all together let me Hit cap as quickly as possible.
So i can move on to a different things that do not give sp (future release content) , Corp battle, fraction warfare, Null sec, and pve content. Plus since this game is a "long Term game" console people still want to play the latest "new Release 1 week titles"
only Go between i can think to do is Keep the Weekly Soft cap have no Decay for the amount of weekly soft cap. But what about the people that come in a month later? easy fix for that. They have no decay on the Weekly soft cap. Once these people hit the soft cap a Decay kicks in for them like we have now. So after about 2-3 more months they can actually catch up to the Hard Cap (which the hard cap is the total accumulation of soft caps since release) till they are in the same boat as the people that have played dust since release.
Since we do not have all the "additional Content" that will not pay SP. do you want to spend your time in "High Sec" Matches Grinding away at Decay? I would rather Hit 0 then move on to other things. |

#2. That diminishing returns crap is the dumbest thing ever. If you feel you must have your hand in controlling us, then let us hit the cap and move on to another character.
Listen CCP, you have to figure out what your target audience is, and you need to do it quickly. Stop trying to make this exactly like eve, or all your going to do is entice EVE players to play DUST instead of EVE, which isn't going to happen anyways. What you'll be left with is yet another shooter that lasts a few months and then never get's played again.
Realize who is going to PRIMARILY be playing this game. Most FPS players do not want to spend 10 minutes in a battle, to get next to NOTHING to show for it, such as 2,000 SP. You guys need to have a basic psychology class or something, because the psychological value of rewarding players after each game in some way is important. It's whats keeps players from logging on. When you stop giving players a reason to play, such as giving almost no reward for each match, people will stop playing. I'm not talking about the hardcore gamers, which although they might be a more of a majority in this beta, will be a fraction of a percentage of the players when it is released. When average FPS gamers start getting 5,000 and then 1,800 SP per match after trying their best for 10 minutes, they'll quit the game and play something else because their is no longer that rush of dopamine that we're all addicted to.
No sense of accomplishment, no more players. It's pretty simple.

Number 7 sounds good. EvE style could also work, but would need more adjustment for non-eve players to get use to it.
Many shooters used to have no reward after match but the kill stats screen at the end. Isk and salvage are gained and the battles have an affect on new eden even with no sp. The making it harder and harder to get the sp is frustrating when it started so easy, a constant gain to hard cap would be less annoying. |

My thoughts
1) totally passive
2) active level of SP accumilation that doesnt put those just getting passive too far behind but gives grinders something to play for. ie sp cap of 1k sp per full round. no weekly no daily just a straigh up 1k sp per match max. |

i think they need to increase the overall hard cap each week from 500k to at least 1-2mil i mean thats reasonable to me at least this current situation is not going to sit well with the majority even though most don't want to admit it or say anything about it but if it becomes like EvE their is no point in it makes no logical sense . something has to be done . i know its a MMO FPS so having something along the lines of a Level up system or something but sticking to the SP hard cap needs increasing as does the soft cap as well . |
