Really CCP? This cap is a joke, such little reward for such hard work and the costs of skill books are so outrages, am I living in TOKYO JAPAN (most expensive place in the know Universe)? Something is seriously wrong here. Yes, I am whining, no more Arum for you from me. Make it so. |

This cap is NOT that bad, I don't really understand why everyone is saying that it is. How would you fix the cap good sir? People hate on CCP for making changes without understanding that there is no RIGHT answer, I can bet money that whatever idea you come up with to "fix" the cap will have a massive number of haters. |

The current cap system restricts a player from gaining skills, no one should be held back from excelling at something, if you work hard, hit the books, grind away then you deserve to move forward in any life, virtual or real, as long as we play fairly it is all good, the current cap restricts character development and is unfair to all who play, it also promotes buying the slightly better weapons with Arum, if that is the case why not just sell skill points for Arum? CCP will make a ton of mulla and we'll have crazy skills and weapons and awesome battles, we will all be happy right? We just need to wait for our Welfare checks to come rolling in to become BadAss Mercs.
I hate to say it but this non-pay to win game is kind of pay to win, with the lack of ISK it makes hard to buy better weapons but with Arum you can own a slightly better weapon all the time, ie: Blindfire Assault rifle: meta level 3 any other Asault rifle in the operation level 1 category is meta level 1
Fix this issue CCP, pretty please?
P.S. "when you say "everyone" is complaining then something is obviously wrong wouldn't you agree good sir? |

The problem with the cap is it punishes people for playing the game. What is there to do once you reach the cap besides play something else. The goal of an MP game is to have player retention not to punish. It's a lazy attempt at stopping boosters when they can just stop you from earning SP in the safe area. |

Their goal is to make the game 7 years to complete, not within days.
Edit: Also, while you're not playing you still continue gaining Skill points. |

The skill cap is fine. When you reach the skill cap simply start another character and skill different things. You have two additional character slots at no extra charge like some other games. Nobody is being punished for playing the game. Getting Zero SP means you've been playing the game for too ******* long. Go get a life. |

I like the cap, the game is not about skillpoints. I think CCP found a pretty good approach for balancing the full-time grinders against working people(the paying customers, prolly) and casuals.
And when we have the full game the outcomes of the battles themselves will be the real reward. This will mean contracts paid out, territory taken, supply lines severed, resources denied, fleets supported or weakend, reputation won or lost. I think once we're rolling sp will pale into triviality, necessary certainly, but nothing compared to the necessity of your team defeating the enemy when the time comes to do so.
In the end, if CCP is doing their job right, the reward for playing the game will be playing the game. They're doing peeps a favor by taking everyone's attention off the skillpoint grind so we can stand back and hopefully enjoy the beauty of the real game. |

Exactly. The game is about winning battles and gaining territory/faction standing, not grinding SP. The SP is a means to an ends, not the ends itself.
Keep the cap, it's one of the best things they've done so far. |

Amen!
I completely agree. There's nothing wrong with taking a little longer and enjoying the game while pacing yourself up the skill tree instead of sprinting to the top. |

6 squads in my corp yesterday all q sinqing and battling each other and not paying attention to the sp we made but how fun it was with the competition and strategy and it really showed what this game is. My hate is that in corp you can't build a full team and go out and fight who ever else you want, corps are restricted to corp on corp battles. Please CCP open the flood gates and let the blood bath flow!! |

Sitting on a closed beta forums telling someone to "go get a life". Nuff said. If you're actually "good" you'll reach the cap in 2 days tops.}
On another note, it's only 26k daily from passive. |

That is utter and absolute nonsense. What you meant to say is "If you play for hours on end everyday, you'll reach the cap in 2 days tops."

Your post is irrelevant considering my corporation is currently the #1 corporation in this game in terms of both KDR and WLR. Grinding for skillpoints shouldn't have anything to do with being good at a game. Grinding for skillpoints and capping out after two days simply means your either boosting or have way too much free time. |

I have a fix, if CCP eliminated the SP's for repairing everything, then Farming is now kaput, just be happy you can fix your brethren and vehicles and continue the battle, all other SP's are good, unless friendly fire is turned on then no SP for that because of farming of first aid points. Now remove the cap, maybe reward ISK for repairs?
your welcome CCP, make it happen

I typically play about 3-5 hours 3 to 4 times a week (often times I log in for one or two matches), I have already hit the skill cap, but honestly I don't really care. My corporation is a really tight knit group, and we help each other out. It is much more enjoyable to go into a match, work on our teamwork and tactics, and not worry about the skill points. Do I miss the previous builds SP ? Sure, but at least now some of the casual players can catch up and not fall too far behind.
Keep the skill cap, maybe raise it 100-200k higher, that would be my only gripe. |

Was talking with corpies today about the sp cap and my squad leader had a great idea.
He felt that the sp cap should remain the same, but that the point at which the sp damping kicks in should be pushed back. The net effect of this is that you could earn the bulk of those sp in your first day of play after the reset.
The motivation for the comment was that people with work and other commitments will often find themselves with limited time in a week and may only be able to fit in one major grinding session. As things stand right now, that person starts seeing sp damping after a couple of hours.
Pushing back sp damping would be a nice way to accommodate busy peeps while still rewarding the hard-core grinders with a sp advantage over players with less time in game. |
