I just ran around for a few match with a sniper and nearly went insane with them im pretty good at lining up shots and hitting and im pretty good at quickly lining up shoots when luck favors me but something's were brought to my attention as 3 different snipers rained hell on me one of them my own STB team members and I noticed some things which were made especially prevalent shooting up hill towards the spot where people drop out of the MCC and snipe. But to put it short I went some 10/15 as a sniper and while my *** was handed to be. I realized some stuff
When the dot turns red I should have clearance to fire and it hit. I shot at some dude and I kept shooting into the peck of those dirt hills that couldn't be more than a foot thick. The guys upper body was sticking out I should of had that kill.
Allow more finite control over the sniper I kept barely taping the analog and it would move at all that dead zone is excessive to sniper when I need to make some extremely finite controls
Snipers should have some not much but some terrain and structure penetration there could be loss of damage or something to compensate but if the structures not actual bullet proof material then it should go though like that bare foot of dirt I mention above
Why does the militia sniper rifle have the same as the basic in terms of damage there should be some improvement not just in terms of CPU/PG cost I think training in them should give me a bit more power
When are we going to get scopes with zoom? |

There are a few spots in the maps where you can hide behind a bit of terrain and shoot through it but due to some weirdness of the collision detection no one can shoot back at you through said terrain. This is probably what that sniper was taking advantage of. |

Same thing has happened to me many many times. Someone will be completely open, and I'll red dot them, fire a bunch of shots, and nothing. A second later they take me out. |

When are we going to get scopes with zoom? The hit detection is still poor (although many say it has improved...it hasn't really). I often see the enemies' shield flashing, but I do no damage.
The standard sniper rifle has a bigger mag than the militia and reloads faster, in addition to the lower CPU/PG requirements. |

The spot you mentioned on the skirmish map with the three points and the big pointy rock spires is always a pain in the ass to shoot people at. Maybe it's just perception, maybe it's just bad luck, but I have had people standing totally clear there, not moving, and I'll put a couple magazines into them over the course of the game, with shield flashes indicating hits, but zero damage.
Regardless of whether that spot is better or worse, though, hit detection is still broken. It is still flawed like it was previously. Maybe it's a bit better, but as a sniper you will notice these things often, where you shoot someone, you get the shield flash, and you do no damage. It's frustrating.
As for your idea about shooting through things, if it's feasible from a technical standpoint I guess it'd be okay. I don't really feel strongly either way about it. I think snipers are probably strong enough right now, if not too strong, and would be reluctant to endorse any buffing.
The militia and standard level items are generally the same. The difference is in the PG/CPU requirements.
Very precise aiming at enemies very far away can be a bit spotty. It is tough to move the reticule just enough so that you're on them, and indeed sometimes the reticule will be red but you're not actually quite on them and your shot will miss. I'm okay with this I guess. Aiming shouldn't be always so easy, should it? |

You have to let the rifle settle, but usually once you have a guy lined up, one shot followed by a quick second after the settled will kill the panic crouch/umm what just happened crowd. Honestly its a pretty good mechanic but I did notice some issue with firing at enemies that clearly exposed and it doesn't hit, more so with non-sniper rifles, but I'm the kinda who doesn't stay in one spot so fire and move works out (depending on how well the teams is around me.
I to also feel that some objects should be able to shoot through, but with reduced damage of course, if its a laser based weapon the accuracy should be traded off with shots that don't penetrate and bullets should tumble...but that might be to wishful thinking. |

I am a sniper, and theres a lot of guys that know how to hide and countersnipe, If you get shot esily by snipers you must be one of those that walk aimlessly in a huge open place in straight lines alone, those are begging to get shots, and snipers are not so hard to spot when you learn how to see them, even more in this build where people that are far away shine like a blinking light lol |

My issue isnt I did shoot first and should have gotten those kills but do to some varible I couldnt get the kill and was shot. I do wait for the sway to stop if im shooting at a far off target and occasionally I just time the sway to take the shot anyway, which usually works. But the problem is I could swore I was hitting those guys and they werent dying. |

Sniping in this build is far more difficult than the last, and while I don't really have a problem with that, I find myself constantly making shots that I know should have killed ( and certainly connected!! ) only to watch my mark run off or look around or spot me. It's pretty frusterating. Idk what changed, but something is really off. |
