I don't really know how to communicate to EVE members in order to call in orbital strikes and what not, so I think that DUST 514 should incorporate a chat area for both DUST and EVE players so they can actually cooperate rather than be separate until some punk with a neighbor who plays EVE gang up on the little guys who are not so luckily connected. I also browsed around the EVE sight and came up with a few more ideas 1. If EVE players can claim sovereignty over planets, why not DUST players or corporations? 2. If it's really "one universe, one war" DUST players should be able to interact in the EVE world For Example: EVE players use orbital strikes against DUST players, why can't the DUST players use large weapons installations against EVE ships above the planet? 3. DUST battles should take place outside of planets as well. In Example: EVE players want control of a battle station (if there are any) DUST players can clear out the interior of enemies. Once in control, EVE players have the benefit of a station to restock or something, and DUST players have the benefit of a new territory to interact with (maybe an improved Merc Quarter, maybe access to goods EVE players drop off or sell there)
Would like people's feedback on this as well. |

The beta doesn't really collaborate the entire EVE universe yet. We only have small seeding going on, in simpler terms... We have small things that are entangled with the EVE universe. As the game becomes more... finished, we will see more EVE functionality come into motion. Thanks for the heads up, but we don't exactly know how the finished version will turn out, so I hope CCP takes these ideas, and any following ones into consideration. |

Fivetimes Infinity wrote: The EVE nullsec stuff is a Big Deal for EVE players so involved, and it would be very poorly received if Dust players were somehow able to take sovereignty of systems away from EVE corps. CCP has reassured EVE players that such a thing will not happen, and that Dust players will simply allow for easier taking of sov by EVE players. Ultimately I'd say that Dust should have its own territorial control (over planet districts) which itself is separate from EVE players beyond orbital strikes.
That's a good point. But it also disappoints me. What's the point in being in the EVE universe as a DUST player if EVE players can pull trump and hold all the cards? We can't access all the benefits of EVE merely because its a FPS? In my opinion, the integration of DUST should be a motivation for EVE players to team up with DUST players. If an EVE player wants to remain sovereign over a planet, they should integrate DUST into their corps to protect their assets. But I understand that DUST is not equal in the eyes of CCP and it will never be so. |
