First of all, when can we expect to see projectile weapons? It's quite obvious most of what we have now are railgun based.
To the meat of it, Weapon suggestions.
1a: Projectile based Sniper rifle. Since the current one is a rail gun and semi-automatic. This would most likely be high damage low ROF. Think bolt action modern rifle, but higher caliber. Say around 350 base dmg, to make up for the much slower ROF.
1b: My other idea for the Projectile heavy weapon would be a large anti vehicle weapon. Say something equal to the real world 20mm anti tank rifles, obviously they could be bigger in Dust. Maybe 500-600dmg base, but able to have a scope unlike the forge gun, and magazine fed. Could be higher dmg, of course.
2: Laser based sniper rifle. This could work similar to the current laser rifle. Lower base dmg than the regular rail snipers, say 100dmg base, but if you keep the shot on the target, it does say ~100dmg for every second you have it on the target. Obviously it would drain the cap much faster than the regular laser rifle. And to counter out the longer range and dmg over time, is the obvious large laser beam pointing back to point of origin. |

Yeah, was pretty sure the HMG was, lol don't know why they called it heavy machine gun though, instead of heavy mini gun. Which is pretty much what it is. I kinda figured the SMG's may have been. The AR's remind me of the AR's from Mass effect 2 or 3, can't say 1 because those were all heat based and not ammo. Speaking of AR's need to make a new thread... or add to one about the Breach and Tactical rifles specifically. |

Like to add, the more I look at the real world GAU19 A/B, I believe they should make a vehicle mounted futuristic version of that, talking about a 3 barreled .50 cal gattling gun.
Actually on the Contrary. In EVE, minmatar their long range weapons (artilleries) are known for being High alpha damage, but low dps due to lower ROF, this is due to not using cap of course. There auto cannons are high rof, lower dmg but mid range, average DPS. Gallente of course are known for their blasters. The closest range highest DPS weapons, and of course Drones, and to a smaller extent railguns. Caldari, being an offshoot of the Gallente, are known for Railguns, which are long range (can manage farther than most others) Lowest alpha damage but mid to high dps as far as the long range guns go. They're also known for missile ships, which are versatile, but have travel time. And amarr of course are known for their energy weapons. Pulse lasers( longest range of the short range weapons), beam lasers(mid to long range, good dps), and at the highest end, Tachyon cannons (ultra long range, mid to high alpha).
It's true though, that certain weapons fit good with specific races though. |
