i have noticed numerous times when i am sniping other snipers on rocky maps that i will get a clean shot at one of them and fire at their ugly face and the shield animation happens as if i just hit them but they take no damage.
they just stand there eat the round a few times then they hit me in my face like it didn't phase them.
i filled out a bug report but i wanted to check to see if any other snipers are having the same thing happen.
also there is another sniper bug in certain areas that a sniper can duck behind completely and still fire out. i don't know if they fixed that because it was last build and i haven't encountered it yet because i am dealing with the no damage taken snipers.
how am i supposed to support my team when snipers are immune to damage |

yeah, it is extremely frustrating when i get the drop on others thanks to my profile and then i give away my position as i hit their face and it literally does nothing and i try again just to watch the stupid flicker and then i immediately go down as he hits my face. |

it even happened on the same rock face i was on, i pointed my rifle at a clear shot of him crouching and he just staring at me as i fired 3 rounds into his face.
he was in AR range so it couldn't of been a range issue. |

might be the same bug that caused grenades to be dudes or missiles would disappear for no reason.

if that was the case then there would be no shield reflect at all and as i said before this happens at medium range as well not at the mile long shots. |

The core result of this is because your shots actually clip the rocks that you are sitting beside, or the rocks your enemy is sitting beside. What do I mean by that? Well the "Body" of a rock actually extends a slight distance beyond the edge of the visual, about a hands width or so if your character was measuring, and if you fire into this, your Playstatoin goes "oh that was a clean shot" so it plays the shield animation, but the server goes, "Nope, that hit the edge of the rock you were hiding behind." So when the other guy turns to shoot you, your head is sticking up beyond the edge of the invisible rock boundary and you get hit.
The only remedy for this is to move out of your hiding spot a tiny bit before firing. Also of note, sometimes the enemy's rock can block your bullets from hitting him, in that case you have to re position your shot to hit someplace else that looks exposed.
that is why it's a bug and is causing problems for the gameplay and needs to be brought to the attention of the devs. |
