So I'm not sure why, but I made a new character specced into nova knives. And let me tell you they are useless.
1. Not enough damage. Stabbed a heavy 5 times with it before he even noticed and he didn't die. His buddy shot me in the back.
2. Not enough range. You literally have to be kissing them on the neck to hit them, and even then it's a 50/50 chance it will hit, which brings me to point three.
3. Not enough accuracy. Even standing behind a scout and stabbing him in the back of the head misses about half the time.
4. Charge time too long for the standard knife. Standard should be 1.2sec charge, advanced should be 0.8sec charge, proto should be 0.4 sec charge.
5. the R3 melee doesn't work with these. If it has an animation, it should work.
6. I'm pretty sure (someone confirm) that a level 1 r3 bash with a gun does more damage or equal damage as a standard nova knife. I'm using up a light weapon slot for a weapon that I have to charge to get the same damage as an R3 bash? No thanks.
7. They cost WAY too much, period. |

lol. I tried using them, they looked great, yet I kept wwondering, why don't I have a shotgun? A guy with a melee killed me in a 1v1. I was hoping for Nova Swords, not this. |

Briefly tried nova knives but I've had far more luck pistol whipping with my scram pistol or smashing faces in with my laser rifle... which have the added benefit of... well, shooting people.  |

Anything a nova knife can do, a breach scrambler pistol can do just as well- if not better. |

I believe I found your problem Llana.
It is not Laser rifle/Nova knife/ etc./ etc. is useless.
It is new character is useless.
How about stop making new character and just skill up the existed one ^^" |

Hide behind something close to an objective with some profile dampeners, wait for some moron to go over and hack it, and run up behind them and stab them in the back. i can kill an assault with one charge, sometimes it's one charge and one quick melee. Scouts are one charge, heavy's are 2
I've also killed a few people with it in open combat. Circle them and wait until they reload, then strike. Works every time. Get your nova knife and hand-to-hand skills up; they help. |
