this is something that i have been talking w/ corp mates about. One thing we noticed is that the ISK reward fluctuates greatly. There had been games where i went 11-0 (yes nothing super), w/ decent WP gained (1.5-2k), and only made 75k ISk (and being on the winning side).
i simply find that the ISK reward isnt consistent, and almost seems to be affected by the Diminishing Returns like SP (could be a glitch/coding mishap). It should also be brought up the the "hotfix" (that didnt even do anything), was supposed to fix this as CCP said the rewards were even to low, yet the hotfix hasnt seem to help at all
Also, in regards to selling salvage, i believe it was said you will be selling/trading to other players, not to NPC corps. So saying once you can sell that you'll "be in the money" isnt quite right. Being it is a business market, if someone doesnt like your price, they will either not buy from you or negotiate the price down. At this moment my guess would be the only things you will have the best luck in selling are: AUR items, or good salvage stuff (hence why they should of kept salvage as it was, in getting basic gear too, as now only thing you get is good stuff), things like HAV's, LAV's, Dropships, Officer Weapons. As most likey if you get a M-82 machine gun. You'll probably be lucky enough to get 1/2 price for it.
So yeah, if CCP wants salvage to be worth a damn, they'll NEED to put salvage back the way it was so people actually get something useful from it and stuff not useful to sell; as at moment 95% of stuff most of us get wont help us. |

I-¦m talking basic stuff here. Standard suit and perhaps an advantage gun. The startersuit is useless and the guns that come with it. Most people know this. If I want to use my prototype assault and suit I need to find a new game because it-¦s not possible in this one. Not enough isk. Plenty of weapons but no use for them. Why is this?
with proper fitting skills you can fit any weapon on a type-I type-II with complex weapon damages and shield upgrades.
last build i was running a logi-I with the IV sniper rifle with 2 complex weapon damage mods 1 CPU upgrade with 1 armor rep, 1 drop uplink, and nanohive. |

You have the right to voice your concern, but only if you have suffecient reason, or proof that the game itself needs balancing, tweeking, or looking into. The whole I do not have enough ISK woes is actually a -- "You, the player problem." -- rather then a game problem. I've already stated this several times, but people do not like hearing the bitter truth. I myself am an abover average player. On an average I make about a hundred thousand ISK or more precisely just above that. My worst games I make about seventy-five to eighty thousand. Only when I get shafted onto the D-Team, and we're overrun though in a stampede. What most people are neglecting though is the balancing point. The whole point is for you the player to know what you want to do and how you need to balance yourself. If you have to play starter fits to buy that specific skill then suck it up. If you want to run better, or more precisely more personalized gear instead of purchasing or acquiring skills then choose to do so. You cannot however this early into the game -- unless you are in the one percent -- do both at the same time. Again it's a lot like real life and balancing your finances, and assets. Think of it this way if you must do you want to pay the electric bill today and keep your electric on, or go splurge on yourself and buy that new Iphone (just an example)? Paying the penalty fees and payment later.
I've said it again, and I'll do it again -- if you the player do not know how to balance your finances in real life then New Eden and the EVE universe will be your nightmare. If you are not five steps ahead; you are three steps behind. Simple as that. This game is a better teacher when it comes to balancing ones finances then any school, or most parents in this life lesson(s).
I'm not trying to come off as the biggest jerk in New Eden. Just telling you the truth. Expecting to be able to do too many things at once and get away with it is asking too much. If you over extend yourself that is your problem. Simply put -- If you are spending more then you have coming in, you have a problem. Nuff' said. Now does that mean we do not need the player trade market? No, infact we do. That we can all agree on. The faster we can sell, or tade our unused assets and turn them into extra profits the better. I also agree that CCP should look into rebalancing the militia tech level dropsuits, and fixing the glitch that is plaguing some people who are being affected. Still in the end if you are not acquiring enough ISK it's a you problem. Be more agressive. The game more or less demands you stop camping and start going for the objective. Will you die? Yes, oh by the lords of gaming you will. I die a lot, but I am on the front lines all the time. I expect to die. It's built into the lore of the game even. I die for the sake of profits, and someone elses worldly goals, or needs. Fill my pocket full of ISK and you have a friend in me.
Just for the sake of wanting to know though I would like to see the statistics on the average amount of ISK players as a whole are bringing in. This would determine soley if more ISK is needed or not. I am just above the average it would seem making about a hundred thousand, but is fifty thousand ISK really the average or is a hundred thousand the average? Unknown. |

I'm not a super fantastic player, but i'm good enough.. I usually run about 10/2 K:D ratio. As a sniper I don't get a whole lot of WP because my job isn't to run up and cap points... Its to defend them and provide cover fire. Right now my build costs about 40k ISK, so If I die twice I will be loosing Isk in the match and will not be able to purchase a new dropsuit.
However maybe it is the goal of CCP to force everyone into Militia except in corporate sanctioned battles where your corporation will be paying for the suits, which will suck because my play style will have to completely change depending on whether I am practicing and playing scrub matches, and when I'm playing ones that mean something.
However I will say this change has made me extremely conservative in my playstyle... The risk of death has made it a tough choice between capping a point and possibly getting in close range of a frontline player and continuing to stay in my nest and hoping someone else suitable to the front lines will cap it. |

"I'm running out of isk" - seriously? Is it because you suck? Or you buying up skill books or stuff you don't need or something?
This is the build I'm sucking the most at and I've been running type ii suits with advanced weapons since day 1 - I currently have approx 1mil isk worth of fittings (about 32 in total) and another 1.2isk sat available.

I agree with the "not enough" camp. Last build I had no ISK worries with roughly the same character profile/dropsuit fitting. I got in late to the Precusor build but still managed to get 5mil ISK and growing by the reset with my character development limited only by SP. Now I'm struggling to break even even when splitting the 50/50 between premium loadout and starter loadout.
I will be looking into the Restock bug tonight to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.
Also, I have about 3M ISK, at market rates, in salvage that I likely won't use that would be great to sell. |

I'm not a brilliant player, not by any means. If I hit at least even kdr every match I'm happy. My current build is the standard anti-armor suit, swap the swarms for laser rifle (cause I'm Amarr. Seriously) and a militia scanner precision mod in the empty high slot.
This load out costs 8.8k isk or about. I get 30-50k an ambush map and net about 5-10k a fight. Maybe if I get better skills, and maybe if I get a squad to run with, than maybe I can look into an advanced load out. Right now I'm striving to purchase skill books. I figure in 10-15 fights I'll have grenadier. This seems like poor isk returns to me. I'm not sure how a corp would be able to purchase stuff for their peeps when we barely make anything to be taxed. Maybe it'll get better after the election in the states.... |

While I agree that selling Salvage needs to come along, I don't understand why some people thing they should be allowed to run more expensive suits because "I'm not going to run the starter gear", You might not like it, but you're going to damn well use that starter gear like the rest of us that don't have the cash to afford top notch gear.
I don't understand why people would want to use proto stuff in standard matches, it makes no sense to me, any proto gear I use I will make sure the cost is covered, and to do that is by entering corp battles. Sure maybe in the future when I have some reserved gear to mess about with, I may enter a random battle with top gear, but for now I'm happy using a militia fit and not losing any money at all (I'm still getting 1-3rd place on the team in nearly every match.) |

Last build I was running proto suits + fittings costing 300,000 isk - I knew I would never realistically 'earn' any isk from a match unless I never got killed.

Yes, something is incredibly whacky with the isk payouts. The patch even said, lower level matches especially should payout better, but they are way way worse. There use to be a minimum of around 75-80k or so that you got, even if you lost. I'd get between 200-250k if I did well (for me, I'm not a great player). I usually got around 135-150k or so, but now I'm ecstatic if I get anywhere near a 100k payout on a good game, more likely around 75k :-/ |

I-¦m not spending real money on equipment/weaponsthat go away so what now? I stop playing? No way I-¦m doing endless matches in a startersuit to coin up. Why are we getting so little and why are other people still making 100k a match?
Thoughts?
Absolutely need to be able to sell unused items, to reduce menu clutter if not the extra ISK. How about more opportunities for ISK in battle? There are still plenty of things in battle that aren't rewarded that are important, and repair tools are still healing fast and rewarding in ungodly slow and small increments. And for selling items, why not ask right at the end of battle if you'd like to sell any of it? That would prevent you from having to build a sell feature into the market right away. Or perhaps put a sell option into the assets menu so you can sell things from there.
And if you think about it, this is supposed to be accessible to people who just want a shooter to play. How is a normal FPS player supposed to just jump in and play when even the normal players are having trouble with how the system works? There needs to be an alternate streamlined interface for dealing with these things that isn't as involved for people who don't want to deal with all of this. I know that'll be a long time coming, but to get those people playing this game will need a quick-play interface that doesn't require all of the planning and fitting but still lets you upgrade your stuff. The only way I see this happening is to allow a (probably prohibitively expensive) blueprint item into each tier, but do you guys have any ideas for making it more accessible? |
