It relates to SP required to train. X1 is shortest for example and has the lowest requirements per level. |

It's a multiplier.
Quote:http://www.thefreedictionary.com/multiplier
mul-+ti-+pli-+er (mlt-plr) n. 1. One that multiplies: This old house is a multiplier of expenses. 2. Mathematics The number by which another number is multiplied. In 8 +ù 32, the multiplier is 8. 3. Physics A device, such as a phototube, used to enhance or increase an effect.
Example: If a 1X skill has 1000 SP, then a 5X skill has 5000 SP. |

It's related to the total amount of SP that would be required to max the skill.
If , something were a 1x then to get it to level 5 would be something like 1m. a 2x would take 2m. It doesn't effect the cost of each individual skill level, I don't know how those are determined, but in the end, that will be the price you pay. |

each level upgrade at x1 has a set amount...
this changed for codex and is a smidge over 6000sp
the multiplier relates to how important a skill it is,,, and therefore how much more it is to train than others. The multiplier is applied at every level upgrade
therefore..... x1 multiplier is always just over 6000sp for the first level x2 will be 12000 x3 is 18000
etc, etc for all further levels......

Its how many more skillpoints you need to train it. Currently a 1x needs 256k SP. a 2x needs double that to train. 3x needs 3 * 256k.
The larger the multiplier the longer it takes to train.
Edit. I'm wrong on the numbers, but thats generally what multipliers mean. |

So wait? it multiplies?!?!?!? OH SNAP!
Yeah I already got that multilpy part, I was trying to understand what it multiplies.
Ok take the Heavy DropSuit, (8x)
8x what? If I wear it will I get 8x WP earned? If I wear it will I get 8x SP earned? If I skill it will I have to use 8x more skill points? More than what base level?
All I'm saying is that their is no where in game or in the online instructions that tell you what that multiplier actually multiplies.
EDIT= And thank you all for clearing it up for me, It makes a little more sense to just use it as a gauge of importance. |
