I've noticed a major difference in how the radar is working now. In the previous build, wherever I was looking, the enemy would for the majority of the time, show up on my radar.
Now it seems like they rarely pop up at all. I've been run over more times from behind now than I ever did during the entire v2.0 build and even when enemies are directly in front of me, they won't show on the radar. It's frustrating.
So the radar is either broken, or they changed it, (imo) for the worse.

Just yesterday, I had three enemies running in a bunch that turned a corner and there they all were. Obviously I died. I might've had the chance to run away if the radar indicated that they were 5 feet in front of me.
In the previous build, they'd show up and obviously I'd just run away and regroup. Vehicles that were coming from behind me would show up on the radar indicating where it's coming from, now that's not the case so I don't have the opportunity to defend myself and get out of the way.
There's definitely a difference somewhere... |

Well...we now have sensor masking equipment and skills, so your scanner might not be good enough to detect that player, although you see him...you can increase range and resolution with skills and equipment, just like you can reduce your signature. |

Radar I say is much better this time around, now if active scanners would work. |

Im sorry dude! I scan my radar every few seconds. I generally check the arrow to see in which direction the red dots are headed! I find the radar very usefull! I always anticipate where the red dots would head out! There have been cases in ambush maps where in the red dots ahve spawned right next to me and I didnt see that. But thats are far as I will go with radar hiccups! |

Are the results of an active scan put on the TacNet?
If so, I'm wonderng if there might be a valuable role for an intel dropship. I've read that the active scanner module for vehicles is supposedly better than the hand held model (someone reported seeing enemy inside buildings with it), and a dropship has a better view of the battlefield (when not hiding).
That would free up each soldier from having to fill an equipment slot wtih a scanner.

Previous version you showed up on radar at a certain range. If you were sprinting, you 'pinged' from a greater distance. If you crouched, you didn't show up until you were practically ON them.
I assume that was just practice for the programming and that the current version is closer to what CCP intends.
Maybe now the Scout suit will become useful by being given a smaller sig radius and good 'stealthy' skills. |

I put on an active scanner and didn't notice any difference...
As for snipers, you can't even tell where they're coming from anymore! The range is by far increased with the sniper rifles. |

Last build some people were sniping from 700m+, I had a few shoots at 560m. They didn't have chevrons over them at that range unless they where near a friendly, so I assume I was just a black dot on the mountain to them.
I would stand right behind people a lot in the e3 build, but I had the -25% reduction trained. I think difference is people are using dampeners, and we have two skills to reduce signature now. Last build most of the dots where there because a team mate was looking at them, all the snipers had most of the map covered. |
