A) Stability seems to be greatly improved. Still needs work though. When I accidentally run up on a friendly the game can start spazzing out, or when I hit any object in front of me, frankly.
B) The different time patterns and new environments are nice. However, given that this game is over an entire universe of PI installations that are all set up differently, I think some form of displaying the way each PI installation is set up for that given planet would be nice, along with some randomness in the sites, not the same opened box in the same place every single time.
C) Grenades work much more nicely now. The only improvement I can suggest on them is to make the throw a bit more fluid and quicker, and have the grenade throw closer to the hand moving. Other than that, this was a VAST improvement.
D) Still nothing that makes it an MMO. Same glorified starting screen that is the merc quarters.
E) Hit detection is now funny for the maps. For some reason, I've had a red indicator on my sniper rifle before and the person in plain sight, and could shoot them 3 times and yet not hit them a single time even though they were perfectly still. It happens more often when they're behind some cover, even though they can shoot at me, we'll be sitting there shooting at each other and hitting the rocks right in front of us. This isn't right. It has also happened out in the open which is even more bewildering...
F) Precision Strike is overused right now... I think it was implemented a bit early.
G) The balance is way off. Assault rifle should be more powerful than the scrambler pistol. As it is now, I can wipe the floor with someone with the pistol where the assault rifle will take longer to kill the same person. This doesn't make sense. Same thing with the guns on the back of those trucks or whatever, they're way underpowered. They need a massive boost against soft targets (relatively soft, anyway).
Just some things I noticed. The main thing is that the stability issues have been drastically improved, which I appreciate. There's a laundry list of other things I want, but they're just features that can be implemented whenever like different racial drop suits, etc.
EDIT: Forgot to add that lock-ups still exist and there are some that make it so that I have to manually cut the power from my PS3 in order to shut it down. This is a big problem. This needs to be fixed ASAP. |

Yes scrambler pistol has more damage, but the assault rifle has a much much higher rate of fire, much much much bigger magazine, much much much much more damage per magazine. You must be must be doing something wrong, or you're experiencing some lag. If you want to see an underpowered rifle, try the new laser rifle. Damage per magazine does not equal DPS. I can go through a magazine on a pistol MUCH quicker than I can an assault rifle. In fact, I don't think there is a limit on the rate of fire on the pistol aside from how quickly you can pull the trigger....
Personally, I thought assault rifles should be slightly buffed instead of the pistol being slightly nerfed. |

Personally, I thought assault rifles should be slightly buffed instead of the pistol being slightly nerfed. Did I say it equalled DPS? DPM is important, it lets you know how many people you can kill before needing to reload. With the DPM of the pistol, you can barely afford to miss shots. Assault rifle has much greater range. much greater fire rate. Do you want it to have all that AND more damage per second? Its already the best gun in the game in terms of versatility and many other aspects. Asking for more advantages is just greedy. Of course you can go through a pistol magazine faster, you only have a 6 round mag
If I can down someone in a duel with a pistol while they're using an assault rifle, there's a problem. And I've ran around and killed multiple people with the pistol before. This is OP.
Also, the fire rate isn't *that* much better, because like I said before, the fire rate is dependent on how fast you can pull the trigger.
Also, the assault rifle is the only versatile gun in the game at this moment, but it won't be forever. The pistol is a side arm and should be used as a side arm with respect to the assault rifle, i.e. an emergency back up when you run out of ammo on the assault rifle. It shouldn't be more useful than the assault rifle (which it is at the moment). |
