Over the last couple of patches there has been a trend. I was hoping it was just a glitch, perhaps at my end, however after the last 24 hours and discussion with other Australians, I know it is not just me.
Downloading the patches from the current server is a nightmare. I have good internet speed and downloads, however am suffering constant errors in the download process:
Patch 1: 3 failures before I could download Patch 2: 1 failure Patch 3: Not sure exactly how many. 7 and counting so far. Despite having high speed broadband, I have not succeeded in downloading a 2.5G patch in 18 or so hours.
The worst part, unlike (so I believe) the normal PSN, the patch resets every time that it fails. So I can be 2G into the patch, it falls over and I have to redo the entire patch. As aforementioned, I know it is not just me - other Australians were having constant download failures, and ridiculous wait times. i.e. one member posted 1000minutes to go. I constantly download patches and files, multi gig in size, yet never use download programmes as this has never been a problem until now. The Sony/DUST download server being used just isn't cutting it. I, and i'm sure other members of the community, would greatly appreciate if there were some way to at least have partial downloads able to be resumed so the progress isn't entirely wasted when it inevitably fails. Of course, a more reliable download path would be preferable, or a combination of.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Posted: 2012.10.02 06:28 | Report | Edited by: HK-40 Another 2 attempts, another two 'an error has occurred in the download process' etc.
Even if we could somehow download off a proper computer onto a USB and install manually? This is ridiculous. At least we could maintain partial files on our pc's inbetween failures on a computer.
PS3 is a horrible device on a horrible network. Only useful for blu-ray and now it seems, DUST.
Edit: Full Error: 'An error has occurred during the download operation (80023324)'.
I'm calling it quits for a while. Now down to 2.6GB download limit left. I had 6GB spare when I started after DT last night. Though to be honest looking at general discussion it doesn't appear there is a need to rush too much.
