Even if you do get 300K SP, and I would assume the Laser Rifle is level 2 atleast, you would need 1 million SP. If the lasers were level 1 you would need 512 K SP for that unless you are buying the aurum version of it!

Laser Rifle..... Am thinking its not much different to the BioRifle out of Unreal Tournament. Totally useless to the point of being a complete liability.

Months we waited on the "Laser Rifle" And you give us this steaming pile of.... I am not going to delete this character to I can get back the 150k isk.

While we are taking about weapons, do us all a favour and hire someone with just a tiny bit of imagination, and let them loose on weapon design.

The build has only been out for a few hours. Train up to at least advanced laser rifles and come back to me with the progress report. And don't tell me you have already fully trained into it as I will call bullshit.

Ive been using the laser rifle a bit and i find its great at medium ranges once the enemies start being up close tho it will fall on its face, but this is a acceptable trade off for being very good at dealing with targets who are at medium ranges, it seems to be more effective against sheild than armour, the only real issue i have with it is my main tactic in game tend to be better use of positioning and flanking so this gun suits me at the range i would often want to engage the problem i found is it lights me up like a christmas tree like seriously follow the line to the bad guy

Agreed, i was using it with a scout and a sub machine for the spray n pray when they got close, but having to be zoomed in to keep on target at range limits your evading power, so if they can half ass shoot they'll take me down pretty easy with an Assault Rifle. I have noticed if you can engage them while there focused else where it works well.. A couple of people it only took around a second or two to kill them at the longer end of medium range, don't think typical assault rifle can say that.

Once you hit the sp ceiling for the week you can log in another character, level him up instead.

Also only passive sp is shared not active

what I thought someone said you had to select which character you wanted your passive sp to go to.

New account? You can't just make a new character instead? Is it that hard to obtain ISK and SP in this build, why not just play and level up another gun category? I haven't finished dowloading the update yet, so I dont see what the big deal is

He was talking about the fact that you only focused the SP given to you on just one skill book and not bothered to train up to others that would compliment that skill such as weapon upgrades and proficiencies.

When you make a character you get 300k or so XP.

But after the reset, I first tried out the laser rifle on an alt and then switched to my main and boom, no sp, skilled into something I never intended to use on that account.

I do very much love the laser rifle, but its for sure for medium-> long range use (light weapon skill upgrades for +25% range)
Plus, the weaponry skill with increase the dmg by 10% so 16.5 DMg with 25% increased range, and the laser rifle skill itself reducing the heatup time which means the longer its active the more dmg it does.

I found that hiding behind a crate firing half my clip and them moving the beam on to target results in a 1-3 second kill time depending on their class and mods.

But if you can't keep your aim right, or they get too close, almost any weapon set minus default pistol and sniper rifles will trump you.
