 Hey there people.

I guess the title itself is pretty clear. So fire away ! What will be the weekly SP Cap in your opinion ?

No arguing about everyone's guess, just give your estimation.

=> I'll go first and say 4.5 Million SP

 2.5 million.

No casual players are going to be getting anywhere near 4.5 million in a week unless they changed the SP gain a lot, which is the whole point of this.

It has also been said that the new SP model will be similar to Eve Online. If my memory serves (eve is a bit different because character attributes can affect SP gain) I gat about 2500 SP per hour in Eve which is about 420,000 a week.

So i was also being a tad optermistic

Well 'Nothin' has already stated that AUR boosters increase your cap by 50%, so not sure what there is to wonder about now?

An un implanted clone generates on average 1400 SP an hour

So multiplying this by 7 days you get approx 235,200

CCP Nothin said in this post that having an SP booster on will increase the cap by 50%. I'd say anything between 1 to 3 million is probably a decent guess depending on exactly how much they reduced skill prices by.

You're saying you were getting about/more than 1.5 million SP a day before? How many games were you playing?

And again, if it's anything at or above 4 million or so, then you're defeating the whole purpose of the cap. It's to decrease the discrepancy between hardcore and casual players--if the hardcore guys can get 10mil (or more) per week every week, then you're still going to be leaps and bounds ahead of casual players.

Any guess over 1 million is pure WoW fantasising.

First we need to look at how much a casual player will reasonably be assumed to play per week. Let's say two days per week, 4 hours each of those days, giving us 8 hours * 3 matches/hour = 24 matches per week.

Assuming between 10k and 20k SP per match we're looking at 240k to 480k per week.

I'm pretty sure we're still going to be getting bonuses to those first matches. Once we start gearing up I wouldn't be surprised to see 100k SP for the very first match of the week easily. It would be pretty lame if you got 1/4 (or more) of your allotted SP in one game.

And, more importantly, they're trying to decrease, not eliminate, the gap between hardcore and casual. If essentially every player has the exact amount of SP it's going to be kind of stupid.

If they lowered SP cost to be inline with EVE I'd say Rasatsu is pretty darn close. But if they kept the 2x SP cost at level 5 I'm gonna say right around 768k per week with booster, maybe 1m per week.

I know my main on EVE takes about 4 and a half days to train a rank 1 skill from level 4 to 5, thats with maxed out learning, and full +4 implants.

Mavado V Noriega wrote:hard caps are ********.that being said it can still work 3mill per week anything lower and game is gonna fllop imo.
gotta give ppl a reason to keep loggin on so having a hard cap means when ppl hit the cap they go play something else as they cant advance their character anymore

And with out the cap everyone has all skills at level 5 in a week or two, then what reason is there to keep logging in (Hint its not all about SP ou know)

 600

It takes about a month to train an 8x skill from lvl 4 to lvl 5 in EVE, and about 2400 sp to train an 8x skill from lvl 4 to 5 in dust. So 2400/4 = 600.

I play Eve. I don't play enough to hit the skill cap. That being said:

 1.35mil/week.

After the first 250k, you'll start getting those 'diminishing returns' levels of SP.

 Enjoy

 going by eve-onlines cap :

max is around 250k -500k (weekly), thats using a max skilled 7yr old char.

training a rank 14 skill from level four to level five maxing it out = 64 days ( in eve with above 7yr old char fully maxed out)

Yeah, this is what we should anticipate. Making the SP gain comparable to EVE means capping out at a few hundred thousand a week or so.

Patch notes said in line with eve, so 907200. The max per week in EvE is 453600. Although EvE skills take 256k to train x1 to lv5, it takes 512k in dust. So, 2 dust sp is 1 eve sp.
