The HTV Heavy Transport Vehicle much like the The LAV in movement and speed but large enuff to transport 6 people like dropships. including armor like a tank and the ability to use larger armor plates and having (MAYBE) a light turret could be a perfect tool on the battlefield. Weather your all support or a drive and drop player, the HTV is useful for everyone.
something like one of these.. http://www.panasonicforbusiness.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/troop-transport1.jpg
on the second thought, deff no turret, it might become to "OP" for some people, oh and i know there might be a million threads like this already, thank you ahead of time :) |

I think the APC or (HTV as you call it) would be unecessary since dropships already fill that role. Would be easier to instead just make dropships more durable, and maybe adding a dropship variant with no turrets and higher HP in exchange.
An attack ship would be cool. |

(HTV just fit for a game name) and yes that dropship, like the one they show in one of the trailers, hes shooting from it,i love it. the only other reason id want this HTV would be for its use in say a HAV repair group, a dropship would be to hard to do that with, and the LAV's are quick to die. yes i know its just a mix of all of them and that the challenge lies within using what we have already, but this would only further the challenge. |

An APC or HTV as you suggested would be more usfull than a drop ship for the guys on the ground as it could act as a fire support and mobile cover, a dropship can do fire support but only in certain situations, a APC would be far more versitile. I dont think dropships should be made tougher as we do not need flying tanks, a suggestion i would make would be to have APC or HTVs being able to support a medium sized gun of either a anti infantry or a anti aircraft/light vehicle, its natural hunter should be tanks |

agreed, and its not like it would be doing any to minimal damage(the hit-n-run method) to anyone nor will it be as hard to stop as tanks are (or not) |

You'd need something more to it. Like, having the things act as mobile supply points for example. Just moving X people across the map isn't good enough. Two LAVs could do that, one dropship could do that but faster. Having APCs of some sort which also resupply units or otherwise provide some extra bonus to make them distinct would be required to give the thing an actual niche. Although, to be honest, even then I really wonder whether it's enough of a niche. |

a armored transport able to provide on the ground support and transport is important the dropship is more for quick deployment with light cover, a HTV would be something that could get into places and drop of troops and cover them and provide them with a fall back also if a enemy team (when its added) as strong air dominance and plenty of AA to keep it that way, a alternative transport would be required. if the enemy ruled the skies and could fill them with AA then dropships would be impractical where as a HTV could take advantage of weakspot in a enemies defense it would stand to reason if they so overwhelming on AA then they may have weak spot to exploit on the ground |

Yes im getting at what your getting at, i just didnt think in need to get into detail. you could equip it with the mobile spawn point but at the same time you could equip it with the dropsuit repair and/or the HAV repair module. or yes if they create a nano hive module for vehicles then your resupplier will be there. |

vehicles shouldnt be designed with one task in mind tech 1 vehicles should be able to handle a broad range of abilitys, the tech 1 version of an APC or IFV or HTV should be a armored vehicle, that can hold 6 people, and has one small turret mount, with module slots layed out for external effects and/or resistance modules.
that way someone could gear it into a armored transport that can drive into a barrage of fire and drop troops off, or they can mount speed and damage mods and allow the natural armor to get it though while it provides fire support to dimounting infantry, or they can opt for support via vehicle command and effect modules things like that very broad number of option to fit. |

Yes, please. Sci-fi version of the Bradley IFV would be GREAT. Can even have it use the 'small' turrets, preferably one that shields the gunner, but even if not, I'd still take it. |
