OP....ROFL wasn't a faction like SVER. So, it wouldn't make sense for people to say that SVER can beat ROFL or vice versa. It appears that ROFL is an alliance created from clans in all factions from MAG in the wake of DUST.
COD kiddies didn't have the attention span to stay in MAG or so I hear. Who would win if they squared off in MAG, COD, or DUST? Who knows....I can't predict there would be a landslide either way. However, MAG players may have an advantage in large scale battles strategically. However, BF3 clans are great at stratagizing battles with vehicles. So, u never know.
But a sidebar to ROFL and EV.....pay close attention to the hate that MAG players are getting here. Why the divide?? Hurry up and sort that mess out and work together. |

Sort of like high-sec empire. The devs didn't let the players go far enough and create their own factions and reasons to fight.
Well, it wasn't a persistent shooter or mmorpg. It was (or is), simply, an fps on a larger scale than 12v12. |

Conraire wrote:I haven't had many issues with MAG players myself. Though, I haven't exactly paid much attention to their history and lore either. Far as I'm concerned it's a dead game, and it may have been one of the few of it's kind on the console. But it's by far not the only large scale team based FPS that's existed. My history with games like that goes all the way back to mechwarrior 2 with Netmech over Kali. Rogue spear, the Original Ghost Recon games. Battlefield1942/Vietnam, And even lately I've been doing GRO beta, let me tell ya, that game has teamwork problems right now.
You also have to realize that there are A LOT of veteran EVE players that are beta testing Dust, myself included. You think MAG was about big battles and teamwork? You haven't seen anything on the scale of battles in EVE. Back in 04 when the GNW started, the first battle had around 120 ships, bout 70 our side, and 50 NAST side, this size of battle was unheard of at the time. That was back then, mind you these are fairly well co-ordinated Fleets, with target calling, and concentrated fire, taking out specific targets first. Last battle of the GNW was around 400 people in system. Think PA was slightly out numbered that time, this was back in late 05. Nowadays you can end up seeing Fleets of upwards of 250 people, depending of the FC skills, combined fleets of 900+ duking it out with enemy fleets of similar size. And this isn't free for all, it's well orchestrated, over voice comms.
Noone would argue that but the comparison was made between MAG and COD players. |

But the important is not really know who is the best or the worst, probably the best is to find nice people willing to teach others and willing to have fun, because in the end of the day, any video game is for have fun with friends.
In the other hand I'll appreciate if we refer to other players with respect!
Cheers!
The MAG players can't help it, it's in their nature to bicker like children.
Since, I've joined, however, all of the hate and bravado are coming from non-MAG players. Hence, this thread |

Tony Calif wrote:Tosch, while I agree keeping things civil, it's depressing hearing about people who simply don't understand the nature of FPS. Had a chat with someone today, who just wants to fly Dropships. That's all. Wtf are you playing an FPS? Or the guys who repair you while you fighting. Bececause their bullets aren't worth firing apparently according to them. Because "they're not good".
Well, get better or go play the sims. Only way to get better is try.
I am still shocked friendly fire is off in high sec. That is one thing which puts MAG clans off. We sometimes stop firing so we don't shoot our team.
I'm going to have to agree with cerebral on this one....that is a bit harsh. I don't mind guys who want to specialize in certain things because they feel their fps skills are already saturated. I love games that allow someone who isn't a great shooter to play a role and still be a decisive factor in the battle.
Its like in MAG....shooters aren't going to go out and repair your frontline for you. Nor, will they risk dying trying to repair the gates at the letters. Even in DUST...killers may not run around the field looking for armor to repair.
The only thing I don't like about some players is that they like to stay in the spawn area and not move towards objectives. |
