Well, this is a complicated one. Firstly... I think you are a bit confused. RofL are some EvE/Dust alliance. Raven were a MAG faction. High fire rate, low damage. Sver had high damage low fire rate. Valor were the half way stop. Essentially, Sver had the E3 build Creodon, (hence people instantly calling it "space Tamsen") Valor had Duvolles, and Raven Allotek's to give Dust equivalents.
Sver had the largest and best Playerbase, however, both other factions also had large amounts of good players too. Most of the top tier players have been on all 3 factions too. Sver won the shadow war. MAG was about CLAN wars though. Not shadow war. Sver hated Valor, Valor hated Sver, and Raven hated them both. It's 3 years of stale community that you are hearing. Simply judge each clan from MAG on how they perform in Dust.
Edit: I stopped playing CoD after 2 kids spent 15 minutes arguing over who was a donkey. Plant CoD kids into corps you wish to destabilise and demoralise. |

Agreed. 50% highsec 100% low sec 110% null.
They have said however high sec = no FF Subject to change obviously. |

"Scrub - Someone who's bad and who has no way to improve. Will forever stay a scrub."
Not quite Gauder. It comes from before FPS hit consoles. First time I heard of it was Mortal Kombat 2. It refers to people who are so unable to use control pads they just mash their hand over the button, "scrubbing" the pad. They then progressed to button bashing, holding the controller properly, but not fighting in any sensible manner. Then then got good. Then better. Eventually, I turned out ok at MK2. No-one dares play me at it (I'm terrible at the new one with X-ray moves ect...)
Tbh seeing players improve is vital to any long lasting clan. Hence Cerebral being all nicey nicey join the goons if you don't think KDR is important. So what if they suck for 6 months. A year later he has a huge number of capable players. Not gods, but people who will play for the win.

Tosch, while I agree keeping things civil, it's depressing hearing about people who simply don't understand the nature of FPS. Had a chat with someone today, who just wants to fly Dropships. That's all. Wtf are you playing an FPS? Or the guys who repair you while you fighting. Bececause their bullets aren't worth firing apparently according to them. Because "they're not good".
Well, get better or go play the sims. Only way to get better is try.
I am still shocked friendly fire is off in high sec. That is one thing which puts MAG clans off. We sometimes stop firing so we don't shoot our team. |

I shouldn't be so hard on you tbh Cerebral. You're alright at the FPS side of things. But the bottom line remains. Scrubs need to practise to get good. And they need to try things they might fail.
Like I say, chat to some MAG players who actually had a brain in addition to raw skill. Aside from which MAG was not a raw gun game experience. Enigma99 said it first; UT/Q3 players will be the best. If they come here. If they leave UT & Q3.
Established MAG clans are simply go to Mercs. If they fail you in Dust, they're scrubs. Easiest way to deal with it. |

Cerebral Wolf Jr wrote:Thing is i honestly think SP makes a huge difference in a battle, The new guys are ****** from the start at the moment until they hit that 5m SP mark and they have some good, solid core skills behind them.
Till that point they are gonna screwed no matter what they do or how they do it.
Heh I fully agree here. SP is OP. But another thing about Dust is PvE. Look at Borderlands. CoD zombies. Multiplayer team based gaming is where these guys can improve both skills, decide their role, gather ISK and gain SP. I'll be playing the PvE regardless of rewards, because that's the place I can just muck about.
My problem with the "I wanna fly!" logic is that they neglect other vital areas of training. Look at them tankies. 20 mil SP and no type 2 dropsuits... It's just like how I have a problem when assault rifle infantry DOESN'T have Av nades. I mean, wtf?
Edit: I just get all grumpy about poorly balanced loadouts... |

Tbh, I do regret that comment. I wouldn't wish the sims on anyone really. :D So long as people can enjoy the game with friends, does it really matter if it's Hisec PvE where KDR wont matter at all,or Null sec with "elite" clans.
We are only testing the PvP. Often with unfair teams in regards SP & groups. The Playerbase is growing, and I think next build with Corps ect, we might see the first improvised player corp battles.
The other thing is those guys running PvE will be paying tax to a corp. They don't just support players, they support your whole corp. Especially when industry starts.
There is so much on offer with Dust once CCP get "everything" working. There will be a place for everyone. |
