My question being what about those of us that already bought them. Do we qualify for any kind of bonus?
The only thing that has really changed is the amount of AUR you receive so they are not really "new" just adjusted... |

Hello,
Thanks for your email.
Unfortunately the Merc Pack Dropsuits offer only applies to new purchases and as such the 3x Dropsuits will not be allocated to users who previoulsy purchased the Merc Pack.

Hi if we bought the merc pack when it first got out will we be eligible for the tribute skins? Would be sad to be penalized because we bought it first and no reason to buy it again... Please advise. Thanks.
Please someone tell me its ridiculous marketing... |

Thanks. Please someone tell me its ridiculous marketing... no, it's not. You bought what was on offer at the time, a better offer came later. Why do you people think you're entitled? Would you buy a car (the best on offer at the time) and the b***h about it when a newer model came out at a later date? No! You got what was good at the time. Get OVER yourself!

No, this happens a lot with limited time offers.
Few months they may offer quafe suits with merc pack, if they gave tribute suits they would have to give the quafe ones too. If they give offers over few years like this somebody that bought a merc pack could have dozens of free suits. And it sounds like they will be available to buy for aur at some point, since they say $6 value. It suggests they will be available for $6 in aur each at some point, or same stats with different skin suits.
If you bought game for $60 dollars and its $40 dollars a month later do you expect the store to refund $20 dollars?
I bought merc pack for $20 dollars back in June, still a great deal. Bought 2500 aur for $10 when you couldn't have multiple merc packs, at time ps+ merc pack was $10. Price I paid was still good( or else I wouldn't have paid it), even if others could get more aur and gear for same price. Bought 2 merc packs with new deal. Merc pack was great bargain, but not enough for me to buy multiple so alts had gear too. With extra tribute suits it was. |

People just seem to think that if they bought anything ever at any time, and if anything is added to said package at a later date, that they're entitled to get that as well. Considering that it's a free game, I don't mind dropping some extra cash on it. |

It's dirty marketing. The product in question still has yet to be released, that is where all apologist arguments break down. Early access is ostensibly a free gift inclusion to all merc pack buyers. Just because it's legal doesn't make it right. |

It's actually very good marketing.
See CCP have a revenue stream and the product isn't even live yet. Some of this revenue will be used to pay the developers to finish the game, thus they don't need to "rush" to get to market.
People will buy this new Merc Pack to get access to the beta, so they will make money there.
Additionally some people who have already bought the merc pack will buy a 2nd merc pack just for the extra items (40,000 AUR + 30 Day booster alone is worth more than the cost of the merc pack) plus as a bonus they will get these new dropsuits. I know this because myself and 5 other people I know have already bought the new merc pack when we already had the old one.
So, I reiterate, it's very good marketing. |

No it's not. It adds uncertainty to the value of the deal, which you are ignoring in your calculations. |

Look buddy, if you bought it then they sold you, its GREAT marketing. Look at it like this, you didn't have to buy it....you chose to right? Ok, now you have however many thousands of aur, 30 day booster, BPO dropsuits, consumables etc....that all get replenished on the new build next week, and however many builds after that, and one more time for launch. So I don't see your problem, you're not going to be 'spending' any of it until launch, in which case you will have a head start in regards to sp (booster) and aur than those who did not buy the merc pack. Now lets also think about how many BPO items are going to be released over time, be it dropsuits/weapons or whatever, if you don't want to feel like you're throwing your money away then wait for BPO's to come on the market and buy those instead, buy multiples......sell for isk.......buy for isk ......sell for aurum etc etc. No one is getting ripped off here, everyone is getting a good deal. |

I got a great offer, $10 for the pack with PS+. I thought about it beforehand at full price, but I have never before gotten into the online aspect of FPS games before. Just the beta of this has sold me. I never said I was entitled. My lady and I just bought a new car, a great offer but some hail damage. $3500 off for $1500 worth of damage. A 2012 so I know the "new" models are coming out, plus they are now giving $7000 off for $750 worth of damage but I like our car, and it is still good at this time. I have nothing to get over. At the moment I am not a very good player with a less than stellar K/D ratio. Yet I still show up, stay till the end and lose some mental cohesion with each new generation of myselfs.
Edit: I was just asking a question as I could not locate a firm answer, and I hate to run around and spout speculation as truth. I do use the search function to try and avoid repeat topics but the only one I found at the time was asking about not receiving said bonus for purchase. |

That only holds true if they don't alienate too many players, which is a double risk in a new (pre-launch) game. The wrong negative word of mouth to the wrong people can kill a game by smothering its "buzz".
Undercutting the perceived value of a product isn't really a good move generally speaking. And while people are able to argue whether or not the value has actually changed the perceived value has indeed changed for many folks and what with value being subjective (aka situational, contextual, et al) that does indeed have an effect on true value. Businesses know this else PR wouldn't be so heavily invested in.
In any event CCP has already sold "really expensive Monacles" (in their own words) so hopefully they've taken these obvious repercussions into account before floating the recent promo.

Ok bro, I apologize. I shouldn't have been so harsh. If you want an extra squad member then add me to your contacts. I dont always do too good either but I get by, its not easy to put as much into dust as I would like with a wife and two kids lol. Don't take too much notice of k/d ratio, that takes a back seat. All that's important is good team work and communication. K/d ratio don't earn you the most isk, revives, resupplies, repairs, hacking, destroying vehicles and enemy installations do. |

Plus CCP I just wanna say. Keep up the great work and I am SOOOOOO looking forward to the finished produst, (that was a typo and after I saw it im gonna mothakitten leave it!) and if it were not for Tokyo Jungle I would buy another Merc pack! |
