Now, as we all know, next build with have the much anticipated corp support along with a whole bunch of other stuff.
However it seems to me that there is one problem that not many people have picked up on...
Many of the existing corps (Betamax, STB, ZionTCD, ect.) have already created their corps in eve online to reserve the name, and here lyes the problem.
If you didnt now, currently EVE players cant access sisi, CCP has blocked them from accessing it and set up Buckingham and Duality for EVE players. So for those who have allready created the corp in EVE, once the doors are open and people are allowed to join corps, how are the directors of the existing corps going to log in to accept applications?
Is CCP going to re-allow eve players to connect? or are we just going to have to create a temp corp through dust 514 in the mean time? (like betamax temp or something) |

player management? they said that dust players can control eve corps as we know, so having player management (set permissions etc) should resolve this? |

This just occurred to you? XD. Your Eve corps are preserved on SiSi, so all you have to do is get on a character and invite Dust characters.
Right no access. Just use a beta name I guess |

This is what I believed, and you're prolly a lot more in the know than me, Noc, but in reading the interview with Hilmar et. al. it seemed as if they were hedging on the move to TQ.
No complaints here, I don't have any problem with staying on Sisi if that's what's needed right now - reading that interview makes me think we're going to have to wait for TQ for a bit. |

I see no problem with simply allowing dust corps to share eve corp names, when they transfer us all to TQ dust corps get deleted and everyone has to join existing eve corps. |

you dont understand, how can our dust characters be accpted into the corps when there are no eve players on sisi to accept them for the corps that allready exist?
and yes it does look like the TQ move has been delayed

We are moving to TQ. Some of the rumors have been that it will be this build. If we move, no issue. otherwise, CCP may reopen SiSi to Eve players.
This, or we create dummy corps in Dust, then join existing corps when we move to TQ. |

I'm thinking that they can't Jenza.
Like our clone selves, these corps we create in the beta will crumble to dust and be forgotten by all but us few. |

The problem is that if the corp is created in Eve, then the CEO has to accept applications from Dust players. To accept the application, it has to come from the same server. If they are on different servers, no applications can be submitted. If Eve players can't lot into SiSi, they can't accept. If apps from Dust players can't be accepted, they can't give roles to Dust players. |

I understand what jenza is trying to say. And he has a point. But a few people have a point as well. If the move to tranquility is delayed for technical reasons, which I am ok with, then all that is needed is to create a temporary corp in singularity that is a minor representation of the main Eve corp. Once the move to tranquility is complete, the temporary corps in singularity crumble.
PS: DUST players will have to create the corp in the mean time. |

from the IRC QA i believe TQ move is post-poned. so, yes, creating temp corp placeholders will have to work. :)

Very true, i for one was expecting to move to TQ next week so i'm going to have to invest valuable SP and ISK into making a temp beta corp. :effort: |

It makes sense to test the dust corp system and infrastructure before ve players are subjected to it. It's unfortunate we don't get to go to TQ yet, but it's not back breaking. It could be the start of some really tight combat groups |

The corps made in the beta may be temporary. They may carry over. if they carry over you could still move people from the temp corps, into the permanent corps you have created in EVE.
It would be nice to get some Dev feed back on this subject though. |

yeah, thats what i was thinking as seeing they hinted that they may be able to transfer corps across, to be honest if we do have to use temp corps because we cant use the corps that are in game allready, id rather that the corps are not coppied over |

The goal is to allow EVE players in DUST corps and DUST players in EVE corps. You can read the latest dev blog on player corporations at: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/09/13/dust-514-gets-new-player-corporation-features-integrates-with-eve-online/
So, there shouldn't be a naming conflict as long as the EVE corps that DUST players created in anticipation of the player corp feature are still running and not defunct. |
