I'm kinda hoping a forum staffer could answer these, but if a fellow player has the answers, I'd welcome answers from them too. In advance, I'd like to apologize if these were already asked in another topic. I can't really shuffle through so many threads at this forum to find it, and it would probably be faster to just ask again. Anyway...
1. I only discovered the original Eve Online PC game when Dust 514 was announced. I just read of on a certain scandal that took place involving Eve Online. I read too that Eve Online has a virtual economy that is very similar to the real-world global economy (geez, people take games WAY too seriously...). Will Dust 514 have this same economic system that Eve Online on the PC has, where goods can be sold to other players for in-game currency (ISK's)? Will there be a stock market system that Dust 514 players can participate in, obviously at our own risk?
2. When the final game is released, how will obtaining the final game be handled (i.e. is the copy of the final game going to be free to download, or will we have to pay for the actual game, sans subscription fee of course, since there will be no fee)?
Thanks in advance. |

ps ~ are you talking about the banking scandal in EVE? Regardless for those who are just discovering New Eden let me just say that Trust is more valuable in New Eden than anything else. It can be a cold and unforgiving universe out there and you don't want to be caught alone with no back up, it doesn't end well.
Thank you both for the timely responses.
Yep, that's the scandal I read about. Pretty interesting stuff. I was in total shock when I read about it. I didn't know a game like Eve Online could have shady stuff like that happening.
EDIT: Not that I think Eve Online is bad or completely corrupt, mind you. I actually think it shows me that Dust 514 could be nearly as big as Eve Online is. |
