GNN Has begun its Hitchhiker's Guide to New Eden project, because we want people to ENJOY themselves while they find factual information about their Galaxy!
Most people should be familiar with Douglas Adams' style of writing and we try our best to recreate that at GNN with an objective, yet comedic perspective on conveying the facts of New Eden. We are also always open to suggestions and submissions from outside writers!

I already have a couple guides and other resources written up for Dust that I put together for the people in my corp, but I'll consider hosting them on other sites as well as long as I retain ownership of the material. |

All credit would of course be given to their authors. Credit could be done in two ways, you could register with GNN's site as a Guide Representative (that way it'll show your name for the post), or when we put your source up we would simply credit you specifically.
The main thing we're looking for are people who have the ability to have a bit of fun while explaining things that can be sometimes overtly boring. No one likes having to siphon through pages and pages of archives to find something out....so when they actually do it...they should be given a bit of an entertaining ride.
Comedy is the key!
To give you an idea, here is an article in the Guide regarding "PLANETS":
Quote:Planets are large celestial bodies that orbit a star or stellar remnant of a star such as a nebulae, and typically they have some kind of importance otherwise we wouldn't be mentioning them. They are, for the most part, dense masses of rock and gas, and occasionally can be uniform in their material makeup. Most colonized planets throughout New Eden have their own preferences on various things, the most particular of which are drinks to consume when being asked about what planet you're from.
Planets are rounded by the denseness of their mass creating a gravitational field which becomes circular. Gravity on planets obviously differ in relationship to their size and density, but the effect that gravity has is for the most part always an annoyance. One physicist speculated three thousand years ago that if an anti-gravity generator could be created and managed to sustain itself, that one might just be able to navigate the great depths of the immensely dark and ravenous planetoid of Vaginargra, whose density is unmatched throughout the Galaxy. As the legend goes, once you get close to Vaginargra, you cannot escape its influence.
Planets are typically named for the star that they orbit, such as Kisogo 1 or Kisogo 2, usually in relation to the distance the planet is from the star in relation to all other planetary bodies in that system. It's a rather simple method and has been adopted and used since the early days of galactic exploration. For the most part it stems from a lack of creativity and desire to come up with various names for planets, but it also is heavily influenced by the fact that counting 1, 2, 3 in relation to the closeness a planet is to a star helps simple societies convey the notion of high and low numbers to their otherwise utterly stupid civilization. |

Yeah I'll keep that in mind. I always name my guide's "Pokey's Guide to _____________" which in of itself implies it's not exactly going to be too serious.
Mostly holding off on publishing anything at the moment since the NDA is still looming over us. But once that's lifted I'll have a nice little stockpile to put online. |

Yea we're leaving all technical data (weapon info, dropsuits...etc) until launch. We are still building up information that stems from EVE and other available sources on DUST. |
