I suggest creating a new thread "scout dancing school" and all scout users can get together and share dancing tips, recommend and share your favorite musicals, and be very very "happy" together. |

So, I guess it's a matter of merc preference And by "your entire arsenal" you mean you have to reload once. Heavy suits are weak. If a scout gets within range of my HMG, he's almost always moving too fast to hit (due to the heavy's slow turn rate) and can put me down with 2-3 shotgun shells. Unless he's a really poor scout and tries to keep some distance.
That's another tip as a scout: Always get as close as possible. Because even though you're a bigger target, dancing means the change in angle is much more extreme and it's almost impossible to turn fast enough to keep the crosshairs on you.
As for the strafing question, I like the idea somebody posed that strafing isn't an on-off mechanism but instead is subject to inertia, so if you try to dance left and then right you have a split second of complete stillness as you change direction. (Interesting thing is that the actual amount of time it takes to change direction would probably be close to the same across all suits, since the lower mass suits have a higher velocity.) |

Lag makes it so you have to lead a close in scout several feet, next build has some software to correct this (great if it works, if it doesn't some weird things may happen next build). Don't stop moving as a scout. Strafing faster then heavy can turn is intended, bizare lead distance is not. If next build fixes it so aiming at scout causes hit instead of 3-6 feet ahead of scout most of issues should be fixed. Also, heavies gain fewer slots at adv and proto, so they should get some of their hp back at those levels or more slots to fit a better tank. |

I'd be willing to wager that over 1/3 of my deaths are to snipers. The "problem" is, as a scout, pretty much one sniper round will drop you. Clearly, that's the point, but it is still irritating to be owning everyone around you and then BAP, the guy hiding behind a rock half a map away just puts his little dot on you, pulls R1, and you're dead. There's nothing wrong with it, IMO, it's just irritating. |

I love my scout suit for CQC with a shotgun...nothing like circling around a proto heavy whose dropsuit alone is 20 times as expensive as my complete fit and killing him while he helplessly tries to get me in his crosshair...works only if I surprise him from behind or flank him while he's distracted...proto HMG to the face is no fun...
But CQC is really the only thing a scout suit is good for...when I'm sniping, I use an assault suit. |

I hate snipers also. They always get you right after you have a bad ass contact and are feeling smug you made it out alive then like you said ....bap....rage |
