Hi,
I like the game so far, even though I don't like FPS games most of the time, and I am really bad at it too.
However, being used to EvE, I am really disappointed with the amount of loading screens and connection issues. I never had this kind of issues with Tranquility or Singularity when using the EvE client with the same connection.
My typical play session goes like this :
Start Dust from the PS3 menu. Loading screen. Loading bars. Loading screen. EULA, NDA and patchnotes. Loading screen. Title screen, press start. Connection error message(sytematically). Back to loading bars. EULA, NDA and patchnotes. Loading screen. Title screen, press start. Loading screen. Merc Quarters, maybe some messing around with the menues, but most of the time just select instant battle. Loading screen. War room. No additional functionality compared to the merc quarters. Why do I have to load this ? Game won't start until the end of the timer even if enough players are in. Loading screen.
Play (5-10min)
Loading screen. Back to merc quarters, select instant battle. Server full. Try again. Loading. Waiting. Loading.
Play.
Loading. Back to merc quarters, select instant battle. Server Full. Repeat 2-3 times. Server Full. Check market, no items load. Check the chat, doesn't work. Face it, you're disconnected. Press PS button to quit the game. Rinse and repeat.
This is what happens all the time, and I checked my internet connection's status, it's absolutely fine. Other multiplayer PS3 games work fine too, so I don't think my PS3 is the problem here.
It's a nice game, but I think it deserves some effort put intro reducing loading times and session stability. |

I'd like to see either faster load times for the merc quarters or at least have access to the start menu while it loads in case you just want to start up another match

Why couldn't we have a button to directly go to the next instant battle from the end of battle screen? |

Yup I counted 14 screens before you get to the mrec quaters (broken leg got a to answere for) thats quite alot in anyones book |

It takes 5mins to start a match in dust bareing lag or connection issues, all my otger games I can be in game in 30sec or in a match 2mins.
Iften I find my self debating whether to play crysis or.mw3 or struggle with dust. Quicker liad screens are important |

Stuff with a star happen appriximately 30-50% of the time I am *playing*. I have timed myself playing today and yesterday, and I find that during a 2hour session, i play approximately 40-70 minutes. This is unacceptable, i spend approximately half of my playing time on loading screens, which compounds with other bugs (see invalid fits, random disconnects during gameplay, uneven teams etc) to create a bad experience.
Loading times are extremely important and will definitely affect the playability of this game by the ADD crowd.
Proposed solutions..:
- Can we *PLEASE* get an option to disable the warning screens when the game starts somehow? This would be awesome and cut down 2mins every time you start the game. - Drop the initial 3D env screen with the battleships (its always the same anyway) or make it into an .AVI - Less detail when in quarters - Precache *everything* you can.. Some common items would be (1) dropsuits, (2) weapons, (3) vehicles and (4) map structures, in order of preference. I would extend this to entire maps but i dont think there is enough memory for that. |
