I wouldn't so much say heated debate, it was more me getting yelled at by Goonwaffe directors for having an interest in Dust and trying to push that agenda, apparently they don't want to commit to it yet till they know just how much of an impact it's going to have on EVE and certainly not until we have the Crest API functionality that we've been promised as that's a major part of any Nullsec alliances security measures, Without that anyone could get in and gain access to our forums etc and obviously Goonwaffe don't want that. So we're going to start the GLA as a separate entity and use it as our foundation for Dust, treat is as a experiment for Dust/EVE interaction and also use to gauge just how much interest there is in Dust from the SA community and CFC members in EVE.

SO it's clear, I am anti-Goon

There's still lots of space, much that is even desolate and empty. If you want more space - you simply take it. Ofcourse, you need a few thousand players, lots of big toys and determination. Not sure there are that many entities left that qualify to that though... Note that all empires have a tendancy to fall, by one way or another. Will you be the one stepping up and make that happend?

It's also worth noting that we're "The Goon Liberation Army" Not Goonfeet due to some random pubbie stealing the name.

Confirming that organization, doctrine, and a large community that enjoys playing together with a sense of purpose and identity has nothing to do with their success. Just fit any old ship, join random fleet, ???, op success.

If things work like they think they will in Dust, Numbers will matter there too, but on the same side i don't think we'll get the numbers in Dust that we have in EVE. We just don't have the interest, we may have to outsource things, like the interview says, we're here on an experimental mission more than anything right now, just to enjoy the beta and see what direction the game is going to take.

All the FPS clans that come here from other games maybe good at the FPS game but that won't win them everything they want, they are going to have to learn a lot about EVE first. Sure there will be a lot of new names come up and some new potential alliances etc with it but if you think our EVE reputation and experience won't matter here you're clearly as blind as "The Hive Mind".
