the same gun found in militia can be just as deadly as a proto or advanced and vice versa. the only good quality to having a higher tier suit is more equipment spaces or other objective based mods thats it.
if we are wasting money for an equipment slot then the tiers of dropsuits are flawed if anything maybe make a module that extends an equipment slot per dropsuit. if a militia suit and a proto are out on the field there should be a notiveable difference besides looks.
There is you're just not doing it right. Go research what stuff you can add to those extra slots (tip its not just equipement slots).
But the whole point is to give an advantage but not too much of an advantage so Skill can still win out. |

not saying i need to feel godly in my suit theres plenty of trolls on here who do that themselves but its just anoying that in battle sometimes the mitia or the standard guy is leagues above the advanced and proto.
Gear =/= Skill Skill =/= gear
A skilled player in militia gear will generally beat a unskilled player in Proto gear.
This is intended.

Ieukoplast wrote:Better suits with higher CPU/PG and proto weapons are almost infinitely better than militia gear... however, when lag is at play, nothing seems to make a lick of difference.
I have resorted back to my freebie starter kits after a few lag-intensive and annoying matches tonight. And I gotta say, is is SO much more fun when I don't have to buy a bunch of crap all the dang time and when I don't have to worry about losing valuable gear due to ******** reasons.
Buying loadouts just doesn't work in a FPS game, I realize CCP wants to revolutionize the FPS world, but this is the wrong way. There needs to be at least 3-4 different FREE variations of each class (3 variations of assault, heavy etc), and each class should have the ability to be upgraded with several items without having to pay for a suit. Meaning if I just want a upgraded weapon (even proto), I can skill it up and use that weapon, without having to skill a whole new suit and all the other BS along with it.
Then if people want to totally customize their character, they can skill suits and do as they wish with them. But a LOT more permanent things need to be in play for a game like this to be successful. Having a buy a new suit, new AR, new side-arm, new nanohive, new CPU upgrade, new complex shield thingy, new light damage boost etc etc etc is VERY TEDIOUS AND ANNOYING.
This will get much better once the game goes live, then youll be able to sell all that salvage which is a large amont of ISK which we dont currently see. Plus there will be much better contacts on offer so ISK rewards will be greater. The expensive load out are targeted at "End Game" player, those duking it out in null sec for control of planets, the contracts on offer will enable them to lose these load outs with out worrying. The high sec areas will have smaller payout and be more friendly to newer players due to people either farming isk using militia gear or new player that only have militia gear. The match making should keep players of similar skill levels together or make matches more balanced.
Its disheartening at the moment as you never know what your being placed into battle with, its still buggy and not all the feature are included yet.
There will be a place for proto suits but it definately wont be farming noobs in High Sec. |
