Yeah the character appears and is vulnerable to damage before the player even has control, something ought to be done. |

what if they made freshly spawned players completely invisible until they take a step or shoot or until 2 seconds have passed. allow the player to make a 360 to figure out where they spawned and where they want to go.

There is then still the problem of people spawning right behind others. Even if they turn visible/vulnerable after the first shot, they would still be able to get a kill with zero effort. If they are invisible, they could even wait for an enemy to turn their back to them, before unloading, making that problem even worse. |

I agree, it needs 2-3 seconds (maybe) of invulnerability unless you fire, in which case it instantly drops. I have been killed many times when I'm respawning, and before I even have CONTROL of my character, the screen is dark, I am already getting shot!? That's not right. |

I agree with the OP, I believe I made a thread about it a week or so ago. The key is that the spawn invulnerability is only for default spawns, and not for objective spawns or anything else player controlled. |

You all realize that they fixed "default spawn" up for the next build right? I don't know why I'm asking because CLEARLY you do not. |

I have a good idea.
Instead of your bad one. Ok check it out. While your spawning, you can have the option to sync up spawning. Every can hold down the sawn button, and then when it's gets to 0 it won't spawn you but you can see when other players are always holding at o via a ticker next to the spawn point your using.
Then when someone releases it you all spawn at once in a squad. FROM SPACE. This would give you much more protection from spawn camping. If you need to add somethign make the spawning shock wave rom crashing disable remote mines or grenades *fused* whatever.
surely this would help instead of magic no death shield? |

I would prefer to spawn 2,000 feet up with inertial dampers activated. Plenty of time for the console to catch up as you fall. |

I like this idea, but as I thought about it I realized you wouldn't be able to move, and it would make your drop point really obvious for anyone who was standing nearby. Then there's the moment where you're unable to move after you hit the ground, and everyone from a mile around has had enough time to get to where you're landing and start unloading on you.
So...doesn't really solve the problem. As awesome, and as consistent with the game lore, as it would be. |

I suppose you could spawn much closer to the ground. Just enough time for everything to catch up.
Combine it with the "fixed" an spawn system and you shouldn't be close enough to an enemy to matter. |
