In this thread, post one or more tips for driving LAV's. Also, write which LAV you drive. I'll start.
Limbus
When you start sliding/drifting and your LAV starts turning, go with the flow. Don't stop, move into the spin, and accelerate so that you can do a 180* turn and end up in the direction you want to go. |

When facing swarms by yourself(no gunner) Option 1. Run like hell. Option 2. Go full speed directly at them, at the last second swerve to avoid oncoming swarms and ram that mother ******.
P.S. @ OP How do you start a drift ? I'd like to be able to do this consistently when running people over instead hitting them straight on. |

Keep moving, perform turns and stunts like the fast five, call out targets of interest for your gunners, and never take unnecessary risks |

LAV's=All except charybdis L1=Handbreak
when you drive at full speed press L1 and hard turn in any direction to do a quick 180* degree turn. And i love to drive in a circle around tanks to annoy them with a gunner who has a zyclonic missile launcher.
LAV patrol: get 3 guys in your LAV find 1-2 enemy's, every 1 jumps out and guns them down.
If you get hit and your LAV starts to turn try to drive backwards so you keep moving fast. |

Things to learn in LAV:
- Driving through narrow openings: Learn to anticipate openings in structures or containers while evading. On most maps there is enough space to fit an LAV through.
- Stop & Go: The time the LAV is most dangerous to infantry is also the time it's at it's highest danger. Make it Stop and Go, and keep your eyes open for grenade indicators and your ears open for charging forge gunners.
- Gunner Empathy: Remember that you gunner has a very small FOV (actually the smallest of all small turret gunners). Try to point him in the direction of the target by driving smooth and accurate (and don't turn too much).
- Circling HAVs: Read the uncovered spots of tanks and approach from that direction. Circle them and evade their main and small turrets while pointing your gunner at them.
- Ramping: Parked Dropships can be shot by parking your LAV on a ramp, so that your gunner can shoot at steeper angles on HAVs and Dropships at high elevations.
- Roadkilling: Don't take people head-on. Try to hit them with your bumper or a slide/drift. Otherwise they tend to stick to your chassis slowing you down.
- Avoid Blasters and Railgun Installations: Blasters and hard splash damage can blow you out of the best fitted LAV. Esspecially Blasters are very apt at doing this.
- Create a Heavy LAV Driver / Gunner Loadout: To avoid beeing shot or splashed out easily, use Heavy Dropsuits with shield and armor extenders. Actually YOU are the weak spot in your LAV, and when you or your gunner dies their corpses tend to stick to the vehicle slowing it down. |

DO NOT ever jump in a LAV parked near an objective unless you own that LAV. they are usually only the free ones with defence orders. By taking it you annoy the team using it for defence orders and also youll die quick cos it aint fitted.
So yeah tip # for LAV (and other vehichles) never jump in the drivers seat unless you own it.
@CCP Come on, ok we may be a little advance for keys but surely we would have some form of locking device that only allows the owner entry to their vehicle(s) that the owner spent money on........
Edit....I forgot Turn on Friendly fire already, if i cannot control my LAV atleast let me blow the Kitten up along with the mother kitten thief... |

Always keep a repair tool on you. LAV's aren't very strong, so they need constant repairs and can be repaired pretty fast. |
