1. In this build they want to test how ambush maps work. Deal with it. 2. People will rage quit from the losing team. So this is what happens when you join a game mid-way or near the end. This is common in pretty much EVERY online FPS game. However, on this note I would suggest that an option to wait for a new game to start should be added, instead of whining about a mechanic they can't fix. 3. Lower skill points. This is how it would be in the final release, so they need to test and balance the SP rewards for kills, wins, etc. Again, this is not your personal playground, this is testing the game. 4. Instability. Finally something regarding actual beta issues. Stability should be something that is worked on. I can only hope that it is a constant work in progress during the entire beta.
You're not supposed to enjoy playing the beta. Not really. You're supposed to be testing the game for flaws and issues so that the developers can release the game with as few bugs and problems as possible. You're supposed to report the problems and issues you are having.
You aren't supposed to enjoy a beta? That's complete nonsense. Betas are usually guaranteed to be frustrating at times, yes, but un-enjoyable? That's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard on here. Unless testers are getting paid or rewarded for playing, they don't owe the developers anything for the chance to play other than giving bug reports and feedback.... and that is exactly what this guy gave.
It should be said that Alpha testing on the other hand, can be wretched; but that's why devs usually pay those people. Early beta testing is usually for the more hardcore types, yes, but even early betas are usually starting to be (or are) decently fleshed out at that point. Dust right now, is basically in mid to late beta phase given it's length. It should be fun by now. If I was a developer i would want to know why a player stopped playing. The whole point of games are to be entertainment. I find it baffling that people on these forums get all militant when a person says they don't enjoy something that's designed to entertain. "It's a beta" isn't an end-all retort. A tester should totally understand it can be frustrating and annoying at times. But at the end of the day, if a person isn't more or less enjoying a game, you cant blame them for not wanting to play and you ought to want to know the reasons why.
Side note: Given the state of the game, one could argue that the game isn't even a true beta (yet). As other players have similarly stated, I have never seen a beta go so long with so many missing features, server/lag issues, and seemingly cavalier devs. With such in consideration, I am not surprised so many users have said they don't want to play anymore. |
