I know its still in beta stages, and that there's still some time to polish it off, and fix it, but something tells me for it to be acceptable to both casuals and (best put) serious gamers, there has to be so much more done to it than some polishing and smoothing round the sides.
As the gameplay goes, its nothing special, and its quite annoying to be frank. The controls feel clunky, especially when using land vehicles thanks to the turning and acceleration being on the same stick, and to add to that, the land vehicle physics are really unpredictable (although that may add to the realism of having different planets with different gravities). Another factor to reduce to actual gameplay is the sudden 'lag jumps', when it would freeze up for a second or two, and carry on normally, as if one player's profile is being updated and all the others have to wait for him. A huge issue though, above all, is the ******* HIT DETECTION. Jesus ****. I cannot fathom how anyone can call this an equal game when its more about who has the better connection. In no online game have I seen such terrible hit detection. There have been times where I have unloaded and entire 30ish round magazine into someones back, only for 5 of them to actually hit them a good second after I hit him while I'm reloading my other magazine of blanks, and then for him to turn round, unload onto me, and a good second after while he is reloading, all my health and shields deplete within a second and I die. It always seems like its my team as well that has this issue, with too many times I have seen my team's clones at 5 and the other's at 25ish either because they are steamrolling us with tanks that must use ******* deflector shields, or because the majority of the team can't seem to get a single bullet into them.
On the note of vehicles, why the **** are they so easily destroyed by a single grenade. In a usual game, I'd be in a LAV, on my merry way to the objective (although lately I've only been in team deathmatches), with a buddy in the back in case things get hairy, and suddenly a grenade out of ******* nowhere, and we would explode as if we were hit by a ******* bunker buster. What. The. Actual. ****. And don't say "Well buggies ARE going to be weak, use a HAV" Well explain why I should use them when, as soon as the carrier is about to drop it off, it gets taken out, or if i'm lucky enough to get in it, the hit detection stops me from getting a kill, and getting destroyed by a single rocket swarm.
Do you see where I am getting at devs?
TL;DR Theres issues with the lack of graphics, theres issues with lack of community and no player involvement, theres issues with balancing, and theres even issues with your overpiced vehicles, but for the love of god, fix the ******* hit detection. |
