Sony just announced a new ps3 model. Its is due out September 25th with "an incredible amount of bonus value GÇô more than $30 in total." for dust 514. Does that mean the release build will be out by then? If not it seems odd that they would release a bundle with content you can not access immediately. Unless they plan on letting these buyers into the beta. Thoughts anyone?
Also here is a link to the announcement http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/09/18/tgs-2012-smaller-lighter-ps3-model-unveiled/ |

It probably comes with a voucher for a merc pack, which would give them access to the beta. |

The only thing that bothers me about it possibly being the Merc Pack is that the Merc Pack claims to have "a $50 value" and this only states over $30. Perhaps it will just have the All Access Pass, the Dragonfly Dropsuit, and the Toxin SMG. Without the Aurum that might be a $30 value. |

Whens the Winter Expansion?..
In order for Dust to be released they will have to make changes to EVE for FW etc in order for all the Dust functions to be there on launch it also has to be ready in EVE, CCP won't release an extra, large content patch just for Dust integration.
It makes perfect sense that this will be in the winter content update, Gives them 1 month or so for the next phase of testing which will put us at the end October or start of november which is when i believe the Winter patch is being put in?

I suspect they will be dropping the NDA when this new build hits (probably on or before September 25th).
If they're adding us to the main EVE shard server, and allowing us to communicate with EVE players who never signed any agreement not to talk about Dust, then they really don't have any other choice, unless they expect Dust players to avoid talking about Dust in the game's own chat (which seems ridiculous).
This lift of the NDA may coincide with a shift from a Closed Beta to an Open Beta, which could explain how they can allow players who buy this bundle into the game without necessarily offering a Merc pack or any sort of special Beta access.
As for full release, I'm guessing it'll be late November/early December given that this upcoming reset is expected to be the last for the Beta. This is all speculation on my part, though. |

CCP releases things and continues to add and work on them for years to come, we get 2 MAJOR content updates in EVE every year, Dust will be no different.
In addition to constant tweaks and bug fixes on an almost daily basis. |

I disagree with you there.
If we go that route, then EVE wouldn't be out yet. Since it has 'some' areas that are just completely borked. |

I just worry that since this is a f2p downloadable game, a lot of people will "try" it out. First impressions will mean a lot with this type of game. If people stop by for some free cake and dont like it, it will be hard to get them back to even see the version that CCP eventually will make. |

There are not many developers I trust as much as CCP, so I am not crazy worried, just concerned that now that they are in the console world they may be getting a different kind of pressure to deliver in the proper window. |

This is why Bethesda and I aren't cool anymore.
Todd Howard really dropped the ball with that 11/11/11 crap, I don't care how well they fix it, that game is dead to me until the modders have completely taken it over. |

This is very interesting. Theres a picture on the Gameinformer article that shows the box for this new PS3 and it shows that the $30 of Dust stuff is:
-Gurista's Saga Light Attack Vehicle -2,000 AUR ($10 value) -7 day active skill booster -Additional gear and weapons
No mention of an all-access pass. I'm assuming that this means it's going into Open Beta on the 25th along with the new build.

25SEP12 is a Tuesday. So that would make good sense for an open beta release on Tranquility. Didn't they say that the next build would, 1) happen this month and 2) take us to TQ?

Personally I doubt those $30 of content are for the beta. The beta will end and that content will be gone: not a great move. Also if you are not interested into the beta, for one reason or another, you basically loose it: stupid to say the least. |

anything you buy now in the beta will be refunded to your character/account at launch.. as it has every wipe and patch we have had in the past for this beta.. so nobody is wasting any money, unless they decide to quit at laucnh.. which even then they didnt waste because they got to play with stuff others didnt |

The poin is that if it is limited to the beta then you can claim it only for a short period. If it is for the final game it's not time limited. |

The PS3 True Slim (or whatever it's called) is being released with Exclusive Dust 514 content on September 25th, there will be no more than a couple days of closed beta, if any at all. If there is any closed beta period on TQ, it will be purely to ensure stability. |

The consistent times coming from CCP over the past year have been for a 2012 release. For this to happen, we can have at best one more beta cycle. Probably an open beta coming in a week or two, opened when the network to TQ is stabilized, giving the "closed" beta testers the head start one DEV mentioned earlier this month in a post I can't find. |

I thought two things right away when I read about this new bundle. 1. It's awesome Sony is using Dust as a selling point for PS3, it speaks to support for the game.
2. Sony is gonna send dominatrixes to CCP to literally crack the whip ons our poor devs to get this game launched lol "Code faster worms! *whip cracks*" lol |
