I was today thinking about what Infiltrators could do (other than circumventing the forward outpost in a Conquest Map to drop an Uplink in the final outpost and/or taking the objectives on their own) and had an idea that could really disrupt the other teams performance on the battlefield: have a transponder somewhere near the base that, when hacked, disables the TacNet for the team. That would mean no radar-sync across the team, no IFF, no vehicle drops and (the real kicker) no voice com, until it is repaired.
Of course it has to be really hard to hack it, for example place it just inside the red mist, so that you have just time to hack it and get out, make it three terminals that have to be hacked in a tight timeframe (so you need three people to do it, or two very good organized ones). Also it should be repairable by a single one from the other team.

Your thoughts? Good idea, but I do believe that TacNet is transmitted from the MCC, not terminals from the ground. |
